Our hosts were very attentive to my questions prior to our trip. Frank responded to every text or email within an hour. This is an older home that is well maintained and a bit quirky. The location makes this the best place to spend a vacation. Bottom floor… patio slider to the water is approximately 30 steps. The evenings are absolutely amazing. The best description of our stay is “peaceful.”

This property felt like home and was the perfect place to relax and unwind. The kitchen was well stocked and the beach supplies were abundant. We had a fantastic stay!

The home was nice. The location was awesome. It was clean...with the exception of spiders and webs hanging from the corners and ceilings on the top 2 bunk beds. Beds were comfortable. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at this home. I like how close we were to the beach. Coffee shops and pizza parlor were just steps away. One of my disappointments was that the laundry machine needed $2.00 in quarters. It was not as easy as expected to go around town asking for change. (If I knew, I would have brought my own quarters.) Also, most pots and pans were scratched up pretty badly. Not very useable. If you mainly go out to eat, then not a problem. Overall, I would say that location was great...home was acceptable.

A very enjoyable week for our family (grandparents, son-in-law, daughter and two grandchildren. A wonderful location on mission beach, near restaurants and two blocks from the ocean. Plenty of room for our family, property is well maintained for a beach house, plenty of windows for cross ventilation and fans, washer is coin operated $2.00 a load , dryer is not. Would definitely rent again.

Great spot! Highly recommend and plan a return visit next year. Accommodations were fantastic. Kids loved having the beach right outside our door and our host Frank was awesome.

I came down to San Diego with a group of friends to celebrate my birthday. We had an absolutely amazing time and the property was even better than expected. The house was great, plenty of space, and clean. Would definitely recommend and look forward to coming back!

Highly recommend this property for a family stay. All four kids (4-7) really enjoyed the house an proximity to the bay.

This is a great property with the BEST amenities. Not only do you enjoy the sunrise, but you can enjoy the Sea World fireworks each night as well as watching the sailboats, row boats and dinner cruise boats. If that's not your cup of tea, this house is a hop skip and jump from the ocean side. Watch the sun set and walk back to the house via many restaurants & shops. Rent a bike or surf board just up the street and take in the sites. The house was very comfortable for the 7 of us that stayed. Beds were comfortable as well. This is a true gem and so far, my favorite place that we've rented.

We had a fantastic stay! Right on the beach with beautiful views and walking distance to awesome restaurants and shops. Property manager was great, very responsive and so nice!

The location is perfect. Steps from the sand on the bay and an easy walk to the ocean. The house fit our family of 9 comfortably and is equipped nicely with most things you will need to enjoy the beach.

We loved the property. Great location - quiet for mornings, and evenings, and just across the street for the beach. Walking distance to restaurants, Belmont, etc. we’ll be back.

This was our 2nd year in a row to have this property and this year we were able to take both the main level unit with direct access to the beach as well as the upper 2-bedroom unit. Perfect quiet location on the bay away from the congested ocean area with great access to the bay for swimming, paddleboards, biking, volleyball, cornhole and relaxing. Taking both units allowed for ample parking and a great location for a party of 7 adults and 6 children ages 2-18 of which there is a very limited supply of properties to accommodate a party of this size. Booked for same week in 2019 unless the City Council makes a big mistake by banning short term rentals.

Our extended family of 12 just returned from a week at this home on the bay. Frank was so welcoming and accommodating, and the home was beautifully decorated. The location is perfect... Right on the bay and only one street away from the ocean. A lot of extra amenities were included: boogie boards, shade cover to set up on beach, beach toys, etc. We highly recommend this property!!!

I would highly recommend this vacation home. The location was fantastic! The house is very comfortable, very clean and nicely decorated. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you can possibly need, they also have various beach games, beach chairs, life jackets etc. This was our first family vacation with all of the grand kids (6) ages 14 months old to 11 yrs old and 6 adults and we had a blast! The owner, Frank, is very accommodating and friendly. We liked the house so much that we booked in advance for next year, can't wait!

I would highly recommend this property for anyone wanting to stay on the Bay. We had 5 adults and 5 kids (ages 4 - 13) at this bottom property for a week and it was wonderful. Very clean and nicely decorated (the pictures don't do it justice). We usually stay on the ocean side but decided to try the Bay this year. For those of you with kids I'd say the Bay is an excellent choice ... the water is shallow and you don't have to worry about them getting swept away by a wave! With this property, we could sit on the patio and/or hang out in the house and still easily see and keep an eye on all the kids. I could not get over how close we were to the water --- really beautiful. And the kids had more fun at the Bay than they've ever had at the ocean beach because the water is not scary and there are so many toys they can play with IN the water. And if you want the ocean-side, just a very short walk across the main street. The house is very close to so many types of rentals --- we tried something new almost every day and it was so fun. And close to so many restaurants and juice/coffee shops ---really convenient if you want a change from the kitchen. The owners are very friendly and stopped by to say hello and to stress if we needed anything to just call. We had a couple of questions and they texted back with the answers right away. Another great thing about this property is that is has parking! Any downsides? Not really. I read a previous review from a person disappointed about the coin-operated washer. The positive to this is YOU HAVE A WASHER! And a dryer. The washer is coin-operated at $2 a wash (big washer though and dryer is free) so just know this and come prepared with some quarters - no big deal. I'd sum up our review with a BIG THUMBS UP! We've left our deposit with the owners to get a week next year. Super great place!!!!

I rented this property with my husband, 2 kids, and my parents, and had a blast! We already reserved a week next year. The house was very spacious, and would have had room for more. The water is steps off the patio, which was perfect for young children. The location of the property can't be beat. We watched fireworks every night, walked to the ocean a few times, rented paddle boards just a few steps from the house, grilled on the patio, etc. I also loved that the owner was very accessible. He stopped by a few times and made us feel very welcome. I highly recommend!

Overall this rental is very good. The location can't be beat. You are literally steps away from the water (bay). Also, the walk to the ocean is only about 5 minutes. We brought bicycles with us and were able to ride to the grocery for mid-week supplies. Excellent gyro place just a block away and also a bike/board rental shop. We only rented the bottom unit so I'm unsure what the top one is like. The rooms are very nicely appointed. The beds were comfortable. We had 11 people in our group and there was enough places for sleeping. The dining got a little crowded but worked. The owner was available at any time if there were issues so I WILL say he was very attentive. However there were a few issues that kind of bugged me: The laundry is coin operated. Really?!!! At this price I just don't understand that. We paid a lot of money for this rental and we still had to go get change to do our laundry. The kitchen could use some larger pans for cooking. We had to eat breakfast in shifts because we could only cook a couple of eggs at a time. When we arrived there were dirty dishes in the dishwasher, only a few towels in the bathrooms, hardly any soap and there weren't enough of the correct sized sheets for all of the beds. The owner took care of things by the next day and said "they fired that cleaning crew." That's all good and well but I'm sure this place has been rented for a long time and you'd think the cleaning crew that is used would be well established by now. The bathroom off of the master bedroom could use better fixtures in the shower. Took a long time to get the so-so water pressure to the right temperature. There could be some sort of book with instructions for the house, local places to eat, etc. There was a short list on the wall for when you leave but not much else. Overall, happy with the place, I just think some things could be better and there are tons of rentals all up and down the bayside walk. Also, just a warning. I knew ahead of time the parking would be tight as it is anywhere in this area. We brought a full size truck and the parking for the lower unit is on the side rather than in the carport area. If the rental next door is full (which it was) it is VERY close quarters to move your vehicle. We parked for the week and didn't move the truck. Just FYI...

We rented this home with another family and had an absolutely wonderful time! It was perfect and people around us kept asking us about our rental.

My husband and our family just spent an awesome week at this property. Before we left we were already wanting to book for next year, and not to our liking it was already booked. But we completely understand, it is the closest house to the bay and the most practical. It slept 11 of us comfortably ( I preferred the futon in the living room to one of the bedrooms to be closer to the water and the amazing air that blew threw the windows at night). We had one issue that one call to frank was taken care of within 30 mins. The bay side is peaceful and so nice for the kids to play ride bikes paddle boarding and just hang out. We BBQ almost every night and sat on the porch every morning and drank coffee while visiting with the local pets and their humans as they walked by. EVERYTHING is 2 blocks away, the beach, Jeff at RADD rental shop for all your rental needs ( bikes paddle boards ect) local taco shop amazing sea food restaurant that I can't remember the name ( ask Jeff at the rental place ). I can't wait to go back and have my fingers crossed the house has a cancelation next summer so I can bring our family back next year. Keep in mine it is a practical beach house, kid friendly and adult recommended.

My family had a wonderful time at this Bayfront home! The home was clean and well equipped. The owners were very helpful and they have thought of everything! The location was great and we could walk to shops and restaurants. We loved Cafe Mono and Saskas Sushi. We loved renting bikes from Rad Rentals and went there almost every day. We would definitely comeback again.

We stayed in this great house last week, and had a perfect vacation. We felt very welcome, and very comfortable, and the location was perfect for our family. We will definitely look at coming again next year. Instant access to the bay beach (or short walk to ocean side) was loved by all my kids from 14 yrs old down to 5 yrs old.

Our family and another joined forces and stayed at this wonderful house in July. The location was perfect, the house had everything we needed and plenty of space for us and the kids. The owners were amazing and were so helpful if we needed anything or had the smallest of questions. We knew the first day we would be returning for many years to come and already booked another week next year. Being on the bay side provided the perfect atmosphere for our kids to play & the parents to still enjoy our time. We hope to be back for many years to come.

What a great family vacation this turned out to be. Your place was just perfect for our two families to come together for a week of great fun. It was clean, spacious and provided all that we needed. Can't wait to come back next year!

We just returned from San Diego and stayed in this home. We really enjoyed the place and location. Frank the owner was very helpful and nice. The property was exactly as the pictures portrayed it. It was clean and well kept. The location could not be better, out the front door Mission Bay just steps away and out back door ocean less than 3 blocks away. There were 9 of us staying here and had more than enough room. If we return to the San Diego area again we will definitely stay at this property again. We also had a chance to peak at the upstairs apartment and found it to be just as nice as the downstairs if you need something smaller.
