Built in 1887 and restored to its original splendor, this home offers all the character of the late 1800s combined with modern conveniences, including a heated marble bathroom floor and high-speed Internet. The house has beautiful, light-filled living spaces and unique touches of elegance. The huge, screened-in back porch is great for breakfast and evening relaxation. A special experience!
Located in the historic Third Ward Neighborhood, you'll be 6 blocks from the University of Eau Claire, and 5 minutes from downtown restaurants, breweries, coffee shops, the State Theatre, and the new Pablo Center for entertainment and conventions. Bringing the kids? The house is right next to Demmler Park, where you can play on the swings, shoot some hoops, or in the winter, bring your skates - the skating rink is well lit after dark. The house has a large yard with a garden and trees. Whether you're one person or a large group, you'll find the large bedrooms very comfortable. Ideal for visitors attending college graduations, wedding parties, music festivals, reunions, bike enthusiasts, or just getting the whole family together under one roof. We have outdoor security cameras on site at each entry point to the house for the safety of our Guests as well as the security of the house when it sits empty. Guests often have family and friends for gatherings, so if you would like to host something like this, please let us know.

Lovely old home. Deer in the yard in the mornings. All 7 of us had our own beds. Three areas and a large dining room to congregate in. Walking distance to downtown and campus.

We had 4 families all sharing space (and a dog). Plenty of room to spread out & relax. It was a rainy weekend so we were thankful to have such a nice home to enjoy. It was fun to cook & eat together at the big dining room table. Memorable experience for all!

We were in town for a family reunion and wanted our entire family to be together in one big house. The grandkids thought the house was "so cool"..."so many rooms"...and the cool toilet flusher :)It was a good stay - somewhat pricey I would say however. I wished there would have been King beds in the 3 main bedrooms - there certainly was enough room for it, and perhaps putting a fan in each of the bedrooms (we eventually found 3 fans). Because of the age of the house, the electrical outlets were a challenge :) Lastly, I don't remember if the TV situation was explained in the listing thoroughly...TV channels were lacking and we should have brought a ROKU stick - no one had their computer with to use the HDMI cord provided. The place was clean and a unique place to stay - we were out and about a lot for the reunion too, so we didn't spend a ton of time indoors. The park behind the house was an added bonus.

Three generations thoroughly enjoyed three nights in a beautiful home. The screen porch was a favorite spot. Adults played games while watching the little ones at the park out back. Take a left from the driveway and walk through this amazing neighborhood.
