About this villa rental

Set on a hill in the charming town of Sayulita, overlooking the beautiful Pacific coastline of Mexico, Casa Dos Chicos is a unique vacation home available year round. With 360 degree views and its own lush garden, the house features 4 beautifully decorated suites, a swimming pool, a tree-top Hot tub with ocean views, and an open air living area with a rooftop living room and kitchen/dining room dramatically linked by a bridge. This one-of-kind property has views not only of the ocean and coastline but also of the lush foothills of the Sierra Madre and the town of Sayulita. Each bedroom has a private bath with shower, king size bed, fan, safe and indoor and outdoor sitting areas. All rooms share views of the walled garden, pool, town, and surrounding hills. This 3,000 square foot home can sleep up to 10 people and it is at once your own hideaway and a gateway to the delightful town of Sayulita, known for its languid pace, smiling attitude, and happy-go-lucky approach to life.

Sayulita is a small town of about 3500 that offers visitors many tourist attractions while at the same time remaining true to its Mexican origins. Forty kilometers North of the popular resort town of Puerto Vallarta, on the beautiful Riviera Nayarit, it was originally discovered by surfers who enjoyed its consistent waves and then by lovers of Mexico who found it an oasis when other favorite spots were overrun by tourists and development. Describing its laid back atmosphere, some have called it the perfect blend of a Mexican hangout and a Southern California beach town. While Sayulita has developed a low key tourist business, it remains free of chain hotels and chain restaurants; and, its cobbled streets are instead filled with taco stands, fruit vendors, galleries, and surf shops. In recent years it has attracted some beautiful boutiques that feature both traditional Mexican crafts as well as objects of modern design produced by Mexican craftsmen.

At its heart it remains a beach town where everything is a five to fifteen minute walk and local color is just around every corner. In addition, to its own beach that is alive with surfing schools, vendors selling Mexican crafts and tasty delicacies, and local fishermen, if you want to take a long walk or a short drive, you can visit many other nearby beaches each with its own unique beauty. For a more active vacation, Sayulita offers a wide range of activities for visitors of all ages including surfing, whale watching (Nov.-June), fishing, snorkeling, kayaking, horseback riding, jungle trekking, jungle canopy tours, and mountain biking. With so much to offer, you can see why Sayulita has been recognized as a special vacation destination by the New York Times, National Geographic, the magazine of AARP, and many other publications. Now you can enjoy the friendly surf, the strong sense of community, and the taste of old Mexico that have made Sayulita a great destination for vacationers.

This is a unique property and we absolutely loved it. It is a very large property with a very cool layout. It is definitely not for everyone as there are lots of stairs between the rooms and the kitchen/living area as well as a falling hazard for young children. Our youngest was 5 and we were very careful to never leave him unattended. Having said that we have no regrets about staying there. The private pool is great, although in the shade most of the time. The hot tub in the living area was well used in the evening. You do need to be aware of the slipping hazard on the concrete if you are dripping water on it. There is no oven but there is a charcoal bbq that they provided a bag of charcoal for. The only reason I’m not giving it a 5 is because it could use a bit of TLC. Nothing major, just a bit of attention here and there. I would actually rate it at 4.5. There is a lot of talk about needing golf carts in Sayulita. We did not have one and didn’t regret it. It’s a 5 minute walk to the main square and maybe 7 to the beach. It is on cobblestone streets so the surface is uneven and the walk home is uphill. Some of us walked home and some paid 85 pesos for a taxi, way cheaper than the golf cart rental. Overall we were very happy with our choice. And thank you Ernesto for going above and beyond.

Thoroughly enjoyed the tropical setting of this lovely home. The layout allowed for privacy as well as great gathering spaces. The pool was well enjoyed and surrounded by beautifully maintained landscaping. The town center and beach were well within walking distance and, after walking through the bustle & noise of downtown, we appreciated the quiet of the house's location.

We loved our stay! We were a group of 10- mostly over the age of 15. The property is beautiful and closely located to town. A/C in the bedrooms and the refreshing pool were a must during our summer stay. We also rented golf carts (highly recommend), had two dinners prepared for us at the house, and were transported to/from the airport. We would highly recommend this property!

We had an absolute blast at Casa Dos Chicos! When a place is even better than the photos 😍Went to celebrate my 40th birthday with friends. Ernesto our property manager was wonderful and very helpful with the few things we needed. Renting a golf cart, speaker for music and even setting up 4 massages simultaneously! We also used the chef for half of our meals and were never disappointed. Maga and Bety were lovely. Only complaints would be, the construction next door that started early in the am. Also, be warned two flights of stairs stand between you and any common area. I’m sure not in the dead of summer, would be less challenging. Also, we would have been so unhappy without our golf cart rental! It’s a must. Thank you Dos Chico’s we cant wait to return.
