Our room on the beach was exceptional.
Restaurant for was not great. Asked for some tomato ketchup because the meat was dry and had no sauce and got given a literal teaspoon full. Second try my steak was hard and overcooked had to send it back. The buffet was shocking to say the least. Food is horribly over priced it cost us 50% of our total stay and we do not consume alcohol.

Excellent room and comfortable bed.
The food wasnt great. The buffet was the best bet, but still marginal at best. Vegetarian dishes were best overall and I’m not a vegetarian!

The check-in process was longer than expected. We've stayed in many hotels, hostels and resorts, but Preskil's check-in was one of the slowest we've experienced. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted and assisted by more than five different staff members. Document verification and payment were handled in separate areas by different staff, which made the process feel unnecessarily complicated. We stayed in a ground-floor room opposite one of the restaurants (1810). If you're staying on the ground floor, I recommend keeping your door locked at all times. During our stay, someone attempted to enter our room while we were inside. He apologised and said he thought it was his room. I chose to give him the benefit of the doubt, although it seemed a little unusual, especially since the rooms on either side of ours appeared to be unoccupied that night. Parking can also be a little inconvenient. The parking spaces inside the resort were always full during our stay, so we had to use the overflow car park across the road. It is secure, with guards and 24hour CCTV surveillance, but when it's raining, the few minute walk back to the resort entrance is not ideal. If you book half board or full board, meals are served as a buffet. The à la carte restaurants are open from 12:00am for lunch and from 7:00pm for dinner. The full-board package does not include any drinks. All beverages, including those from the bars and those served with meals, are charged separately. There is also a shopping village just a short drive away, with a well known fast food restaurant, a food court offering Western, Indian, Asian and Italian cuisine, a supermarket and several specialty stores. There is plenty of parking, making it a convenient place to visit if you want more dining or shopping options outside the resort.
The room has no proper wall separating the sleeping area from the shower, which made it a bit awkward when staying with a teenager. While the layout is ideal for honeymooners, it may not be the best choice for families with older children.

Preskil Island resort has an amazing outdoor set up. They have done an incredible job with its beautiful plants and lanterns, and everything else that adorns the outside of the property. The accommodation itself is a little dated. We stayed in a family room, making use of the queen bed and the pull out couch. Surprisingly, it did provide an adequate amount of space for storing clothing and there was enough space for four people. In hindsight, however, I would not stay in a family room for four people for seven nights. That was way too long! Accommodation is more affordable than many other resorts throughout Mauritius.
I did find a few negatives at Cresskill however. 1. The pull out bed, which was actually the sofa, was most uncomfortable and dipped in the middle. 2. The air-conditioner made a racket all night, making me believe that there was a windstorm throughout the night. 3. It is a massive resort, housing 500+ tourists and unfortunately we were situated a very long way from the reception area. Fine for those who mobile and able. Not great for those with handicaps or problems with mobility. 4. It is a lovely spacious beach with fun activities to do; however, the water is not great for swimming as there is a lot of coral. The pool is good though. 5. The food at the main restaurant, Rendezvous, is absolutely atrocious. We ate so well all over Mauritius, but every time we ate there, whether it be for dinner or breakfast, we were sorely disappointed. All meals are buffet style and I believe they recycle some of their food. The brioches and the doughnuts definitely tasted stale. In saying this, the other restaurants and the food at the bar, as well as room service, was very good. 6. We opted to not include any meals in our package and this consequently cost us a lot more than we bargained for. There are definitely many unexpected costs that you need to account for when booking into resorts as compared to apartments. 7. Beware that there is nothing around Le Preskil in terms of restaurants or supermarkets in walking distance. You really need a car to get anywhere. This makes it very different from the resorts in the northern part of the island, where these facilities are usually very close.
