HISTORY By the upper Brazos River in Northern New Mexico, at the base of the famous Brazos Cliffs, our cabin resides in a cabin community dating back to the 1930’s. The village began with the Brazos Lodge and 12 cabins, some which are still in use today. The area was incorporated in the 1960’s with lots being sold and cabins built over the years. Our cabin was built in 1974, from local materials acquired at the old mill in nearby Chama, NM and stone from the nearby quarry.

WIFI, no wifi AT CABIN, but cell phones carriers, VERIZON and ATT work great at cabin, for texting and internet, T-MOBILE 5G does not work! closest service is down hill 5 miles for T-MOBILE.

COVID, regular sanitizing still in place.

My husband and I had a wonderful time at the Cozy Cabin by the Wild Brazos! We love to hike and the host offered recommendations of which we did do Red Lake and it was great! The area was private but other cabins close by. we walked to the base of the Brazos cliffs and also to the Brazos river and through the numerous village roads to the Aspen Grove which is beautiful. We were within distance to Taos,1 1/2 hrs, Chama, 20 min. Pagosa Springs,90 min Heron Lake 20 minutes. The cabin had hiking books, movies nice deck with picnic table. We especially appreciated the Nebraska salt and pepper shakers as we are from Nebraska. The kitchen is tiny and the microwave on top of the fridge but I'm only 4'11 so not an issue for most people.Overall, we loved and would go back again!Michael and Mary

This was our first time staying at the Jag's cabin and it was awesome! Getting to and into the cabin was easy. It was perfect for our weekend stay - very quiet, great places to walk in the woods right out the door, close to Chama and great public lands. We loved sitting on the deck in the mornings and evenings, watching all the critters wander by, the cliffs during sunset, and the moonrise through the trees. It was fun to peruse the quite extensive local and New Mexico history books there. Thank you to the Jags for providing such a lovely spot for our stay!

property is made for younger age group. all but 2 chairs were not comfortable including futon. when i sit down i do not want my butt below my knees. let them beeven. lighting in the cabin was dark, and for a book reader this was a minus..nice kitchen. ice maker never worked.owner was slow to respond to texts. owner texted 1 day before departure to check on us. how about 2 days after arrival? . just not our cup of tea. I could say more....but.wildlife was fun. it was as advertised 750 sq. ft. 1 closet. stairs, no phone call out. temps were great. fishing was a challenge.
