About this house rental

This Hood Canal Property has been in our family for over 60 years. Our father grew up enjoying the warm water, shellfish, and sun bathing. As children ourselves, we spent many summers in this property enjoying the very same thing. This place is so magical we decided it is time we share with all of you. The North Shore of the Hood Canal hosts some of the warmest waters in the Pacific Northwest. Last summer when we were there the water temperature hit 80 Degrees! Whether you need some time away from the everyday rush or you're looking for an outdoor adventure, you will find what you are looking for at The Beach House on Hood Canal.

~ Kitchen ~
Updated kitchen providing basic housewares in order to cook your family/group that scrumptious meal. Dining ware for 8 people.

~ Bedrooms ~
Downstairs bedroom is suited for two people with a king bed.
The upstairs is broken into to two loft-like rooms-- think large, separated, open area without enclosing doors. One is furnished with a queen bed and full-sized futon. The last bedroom has one queen bed and is open loft style.

The upstairs loft looks into the living room and has panoramic views of the canal. Pictures do not do this view justice, however there is one trying to capture the beauty of the view in our picture selection.

~ Living Room ~
Our panoramic view leads to the deck and kitchen/dining as well. We have a 42" TV on top of our decorative fireplace for you to enjoy some television when the time comes.

~ Outdoors ~
We provide you with a grill and a seating area to lounge on the wrap around deck. Also, there's an outdoor shower to rinse the saltwater off. 3 kayaks are provided with life jackets— 4 adjustable adult sizes and 2 youth. Patio furniture is seasonal. Unfortunately at this time, no seafood collection/harvesting is allowed.

~ Beach ~
Our house sits on top of the water for parts of the day- literally, it's on stilts! You're welcome to do as you please on our rocky beach. We kindly ask that you refrain from lighting fireworks off and having beach fires near, or underneath, the house. unfortunately at this time, no seafood collection/harvesting is allowed.

~ Boating ~
Our house is a 10-minute drive from a boat ramp in either direction. Bring your boat and anchor in front of our place (be aware of the ever-changing tide) for easy access to water-skiing, fishing, and shrimping/crabbing. Kayaks, canoes, and stand up paddle boards are also perfect for this water, year round.

~Accessibility~
For people with limited accessibility, our first floor is accessible to most. Our doors aren’t terribly wide for wheelchairs unfortunately. There’s one short step down from the parking pad to the deck and a short step into the home. Please reference pictures for examples. Our downstairs bathroom has a step in shower with built in shower bench. And the master bedroom is downstairs near the restroom.

My friends & I had a good time during our stay. The house is charming and the view is awesome. We swam, kayaked, played games and enjoyed the view. The house is right next to a road and while it’s not extremely busy, cars drive fast and the noise can be loud when trying to sleep. We’d love to come back!

The house was the perfect blend of roomy with the right updates. Kitchen and bathrooms were fresh and the artificial decking was so great to walk barefoot on. The entire house looks out at the water, with many animal sightings to be had. A nice getaway from the daily grind. Note that it is right on the main road, and although not a lot of traffic, would not be idea for those wanting to bring kids/bikes. The kayaks and swimming dock were all the adventure we needed!
6.0 / 10.0Average·Oct 2019
The house was nice and clean. The owner was responsive and communicated well. Check in was easy. Towels and sheets are well stocked and in good condition. There are two gas grills, one for shell fish an the other for meats. Oysters are plentiful on the beach right in front of the house. The view is wonderful. The down sides are, the two upstairs bedrooms are actually a loft. Listing says it will sleep 8 but that includes 2 on a futon. The mattresses are old and creek loudly when ever you move. The living room furniture is old and very uncomfortable IKEA style. As others have said, the house is only 8 to 10 feet off the road. Parking is in that narrow pull off. Parking for 3 is questionable. The speed limit is 50 MPH and passing cars can be heard all night. If not for my sound machine, I doubt I would have slept. The house does not have good ventilation, with no A/C so the upstairs loft got pretty hot even in late September.
