About this cabin rental

Nestled in the hills of lower Appalachia sits a one bedroom cabin located on a country dirt road bordering Salt Fork State Park. The cabin has all the amenities of home! Sit and enjoy the screened in front porch with No neighbors in sight! Fiber optic WIFI! or Unplug and unwind by the campfire. Behind the cabin is 20,000 acres of park land to explore. We are a short drive to the lake. 3 day min. for holiday weekends. Cabin is best suited for 2 but we can accommodate a small family using a sofa sleeper. Dogs are welcome for a fee with a max of 2 but NO Puppies please! Their bladders can not be trusted. Dogs are not to be left alone in the cabin. Cabin has a max occupancy of 4 and that includes your pets. Holiday weekends are a min of 3 nights stay Friday - Mon.

My husband and I chose to stay at Valley View last year in order to be close to Cambridge to attend the Salt Fork Arts & Crafts Festival. It was not a hard decision to stay at Valley View again this year for the festival. This cute, comfy cabin has all we could want, and our hostess was communicative and gracious! We hope to come back a third time!

Nice property but did have some unexpected guests in the form of mice and cockroaches. We were unable to reach owner by phone for mouse traps but did locate some in cabin furnace room.

Better than expected. Alyssa was an amazing host and was always available if needed. Quiet neighborhood with lots of wildlife to enjoy! The bed was very comfortable, and the peaceful nights were restful. All accommodations exceeded my expectations. I am already planning to return next spring and probably spend even more time there to fully enjoy everything the cabin has to offer.

The property was awesome! Very cute, clean, ton of little things to do or do absolutely nothing. Loved sitting out in the screen in front porch in the evening and morning and just listening to nature! The host was very helpful and kind! Made sure everything was going good and had a little instruction manual if you had any questions on the surrounding area. Well stocked kitchen (if your looking to Doordash or Uber eats this is NOT the place for you) but if your looking to just getaway from it all then it is! Will definitely come back one day.

Very peaceful. The cabin was stocked with pretty much anything you would need. Almost zero traffic. It worked well for our family of 3. We had about 3 inches of snow overnight and it was nice to see across the hills. It is located on a gravel road but that's common in the area and we are used to it. My wife and her best friend had their annual girls weekend. Valley View Cabin was perfect for them. It had everything they needed and was very cozy and relaxing. The Host, Alissa, was friendly and helpful. We would stay again. up.

We loved our stay at this little cabin. It was so peaceful! This is the perfect place for a couple seeking a break from their hectic lives. The cabin had everything we needed and more. We will definitely stay here again the next time we are in the Salt Fork Park area.

This place was great! It was clean, secluded and comfortable. We spent most of the time on the enclosed porch, and star gazing. We’ve been to the Salt Fork area many times and felt no need this time around to go out exploring. The cabin was well equipped and we brought everything we needed to eat and drink for our 2 day/3 night stay. We were bummed when it was time to leave and would definitely stay at Valley View again.

What a fabulous getaway! We were meeting family at saltfork for a pontoon ride to celebrate a few family members that have passed on..the cabin was just a few minutes from the park. We spent the day on the lake and then spent the evening on the beautiful screened in porch looking at old photos and playing boardgames. We had planned to spend the following day at the park but ended up just relaxing all day at the cabin and went to the beach in the evening for a picnic. It was the most relaxing couple of days! The cabin was fully equipped with everything we needed. Our three year old loved every minute of it. We saw lots of deer, bunnies, and butterflys. We can't wait to plan a trip next summer! 10/10 recommend.

Valley View cabin is very clean and the owner has thought of EVERYTHING! For rainy days the cabin is stocked with board games, books and movies! We forgot our dogs water bowl. There were even spare dog dishes stocked! It's also a short drive to the Salt Fork Lodge and park but remote enough that you really feel like you're out in the wilderness.

Had a great time took kids to beach like 10 min down the street, fishing hosak cave is like 5 min down street. Easy to remember your way around. Have a huge property that you can really enjoy the wildlife there as well, the host are the best even made cut out in woods for some trials, which is extra nice even for the non experienced trail walking types. We showed up to big foot cookies (hubby is an enthusiasts). Lighting over grill area was great bright enough to see stairs at night, screened in porch great to sit and watch the deer in the field.again. Also close to shopping areas to. Host we're the awesome thank you so much we all had a blast, and hope to come back soon. Thank you agian.

It was very clean inside and in a quiet location. It was very relaxing and very close to Salt Fork State Park. It was nice that the cabin was not cluttered with little nick/backs so there was a place for the things you brought. The screened porch was mine and my dog’s favorite place.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Valley View. The location is fabulous... close enough to both Cambridge and Salt Fork State Park to do something for a little bit and then come back to the cabin to relax. The cabin itself is great. It is the perfect size for a couple or a small family. The screened in porch is definitely a highlight. We didn't use the firepit or charcoal grill during our time at the cabin but they were a nice amenity to have available. The owner was responsive and timely in all communications. We would definitely stay here again if we are in the area. Highly recommend this cabin!

The cabin was perfect. Exactly what we needed! We loved sitting on the porch. We grilled out one night which was fun. Sitting in front of the fire pit two nights was very relaxing. It was an awesome location!

Hello, I’m overall the great experience couple negatives were just the curtains could be a little thicker you know some of them they didn’t have curtains at all and I’m a light sleeper no pun intended so wake up early because of that. Also having a pedestal fan would’ve been nice I didn’t see any. They were ceiling fans and obviously the AC was very nice and cold! place is a great area very remote. I loved it. I did not get a cell phone signal but I could makes calls thru WiFi. The host was very nice very good communication. Everything was exactly as stated it’s a rustic cabin look and smell. Great area for state park. Would recommended for people that want to get away from city! Beautiful area!!

This was my 2nd year I stayed at the Valley View Cabin House and had another GREAT vacation! The porch is still my favorite place to relax, and it is secure for my dogs as well. There were so many places to walk the dogs and go hiking nearby. The dogs slept for 2 days after we got home from all the hiking and swimming in the parks. Definitely want to go back next spring!

We really enjoyed the peace and quiet and the stay. So homey feelimg with all the stuff to make it fun. Plenty of board games and cooking utensils. We took our dog as well and he was very excited to invesrigat every inch. Highly recommended if you are looking for a place to unwind and relax. Thank you for the wonderful stay.

The cabin was clean, kitchen well stocked and supplied. Bathroom was clean and had amenities. All of the furniture was comfortable. The location was easily accessed. Even at this time of the year there were still places to visit and many restaurants to eat at.
