The Great Kure Beach Getaway - two blocks from beach access/ocean!

We have stayed at this listing twice now & are very willing to do so again! The cleaning crew hadn’t done the best job before we arrived this time but the host was very open to this conversation & was going to address it. It’s a very spacious house which is perfect for our large family & is close enough to the beach for us to walk back & forth throughout the day with the kids as needed without issue. The neighborhood is very quiet & everyone’s always been friendly when we’ve encountered them, it’s close enough for Walmart or various restaurants to do deliveries which is a huge plus!

We loved this 3 story home at Kure Beach! It was perfect for a large family event to see our oldest son graduate from UNC Wilmington! Home is a 1 block walk to the beach with grocery stores and beach shops nearby! Would definitely stay here again! Bring sheets, towels, toilet paper, and paper towels. Great hardwood floors, stainless steel appliances, and newly finished patio!

Pros & ConsBefore booking, future guests should know that this home does not provide sheets, towels, trash bags, toilet paper, paper towels, or other basic necessities, so plan accordingly.The biggest positives are the size and location. The home is spacious, with four bedrooms plus additional bunk beds, and it comfortably fit our family of six. It’s in a quiet, safe neighborhood, within walking distance of the beach, and close to the Kure Beach Pier, which was a huge plus.Unfortunately, the home fell short when it came to cleanliness and maintenance. We found dirty dishes in the cabinets, crumbs and residue inside the kitchen drawers and silverware drawer, and soap scum and residue in the tubs and showers. Instead of relaxing after arriving, we had to clean before we felt comfortable using the home.Another major concern was the wasp activity. Although the host informed us the property had been treated prior to our arrival, wasps were still everywhere around the house. Our 6-year-old was stung on the first day, which understandably made her too scared to spend much time outside for the rest of our vacation.This property has the potential to be a fantastic rental because of its size and location. However, it needs a more hands-on owner, better upkeep, and a much more thorough cleaning between guests. If those issues were addressed, I would gladly recommend it.
