Exactly what you pay for - if you’re looking for a budget, clean stay on a bunk bed with great atmosphere and surfing vibe - it’s a place for you.

The timed shower (1 shower x 10 min per person per day), expensive washing & drying facilities

We stayed in the private twin room with couch, and it was super comfy. The staff are friendly, the breakfast is big and satisfying, and the wifi is fast. You're very close to the supermarket, too. Would definitely stay again.

Our shower took a long time to heat up (but we were the only ones in the building), and it was very slow to drain.

It had everything I needed, with a pretty well equipped kitchen.

It was quite soulless and mass-produced, you can tell the owners have not invested extra for added comfort. For example, the hairdryers are basically hand dryers attached to the wall on a higher level. For showers, you get tokens and can only shower for 10 minutes and the water was warm on 1 out of 4 nights. I didn’t like that the showers were separated from the dorms (you have to walk outside to get to them). There are no sharp knives. There also wasn’t a lounge chill-area so there wasn’t a dedicated relax area to meet other guests. I had quite a pleasant stay because the volunteers were lovely and I met some other friendly guests, but the hostel itself had no charm. Next time I visit Sagres I will make sure to book at a more highly rated and unique hostel. My welcome to the hostel also wasn’t very warm. Lots of small details that just weren’t up to expectations from other cosier hostels I’ve stayed at in Portugal.
