Water Castle House

Water Castle House is a one-of-a-kind property, comprising part of a 16th century Kaštel. The current owners, Natacha and Peter, bought and lovingly restored the property around seven years ago. There are wonderful views across the bay from the living room and bedrooms and a small secluded outside seating area. Internally the property has been beautifully fitted out and well equipped including a washing machine, dishwasher and air conditioning. We really enjoyed the uniqueness of the accommodation, accessed via an original stone bridge yet within a few minutes’ walk of lovely beaches. Our hostess and host, Natacha and Peter, were amazing. On our arrival we were walked around the locality to orientate us as to shops and restaurants. They live in the adjacent house and were always available, being a pleasure to chat with. Natacha generously provisioned the fridge and pantry on our arrival. The Kaštel was used as Braavos in Game of Thrones and there was a pretty constant stream of visitors to see the Kaštel over the week we were there. However, with our tucked-away location on the corner we didn’t find this at all intrusive.

The downstairs bedroom, whilst large, has a small window and a portable air conditioning unit, as well as a (separate) cosy toilet and corner bath in the bedroom. However, our daughter and her boyfriend loved the bedroom and there is a really good shower in the main bedroom en-suite. The property is arranged over three floors, which was fine for our group.

Check in was superb! Natascha and Peter met us, even though it was almost 23:00! AND- the refrigerator was completely stocked for breakfast with eggs, fruits/vegs., yogurt and Natascha brought fresh croissants in the morning! The castle is exquisite and Natascha decorated everything quite beautifully. We felt so at home and will definately be back!
