About this cabin rental
Kömmäkköniemi is the name of the place to relax in our holidays. We are located in Northern Savo, right at the lake shore of Saarinen. It is a very peaceful lake with lots of fishes. Rowing boat, the fish traps and fishing rods are at your free disposal. Forests to pick up berries are around the house. In autumn you can also go looking for mushrooms. There is a path around the lake for a walk or jogging.
You can drive with your car right in front of the house on the road.
In the log cabin there is a spacy living room with an huge stone oven, where you can prepare your food. The oven is simultanously the heating for the whole house. In the living room there is a sofabed (sleeping place for 2 persons). There is a TV, WiFi and a rocking chair.
In the fully equipped kitchen there is a wood heated stove, electric stove and a fridge, a large table with benches. From the tap you get fresh cold water directly from the well nearby.
Upstairs there is a bedroom with two double beds and one single bed (beds for 5 persons). Additionally matrasses for the floor as beds. From the upstairs bedroom you can go to the balcony.
In the separate building, we call it ”Aitta”. There are 2 small rooms with each beds for 2 persons (beds for 4 persons). Here you can sleep in the summer time.
Sauna is heated with wood and gives a smooth heat. In the washing room you get fresh cold water from the water tap. Hot water you get when you heat the sauna oven. The water from tap is drinkable. There is no shower, as it is a traditional finish sauna with bowls and scoops.
Outside there is a wood heated HOT TUB at your free disposal.
There is a wood cottage, ”Kota”, where you can make fire and cook on fire. This is the place to sit in the evenings. Mostly this is the place where the kids want to sleep.
On the yard there is a valleyball place. In the small cabin you find lots of water toys and eqipment for outdoor games.
In the wood storage you find dry wood for your fire.
At the lake shore there is additionally a open fire place with benches.
Toilet is a traditional Finnisch outdoor toilet in a separate building.
Kömmäkköniemi is a paradise for the children, as the yard is very large and the lake shore is sandy and it goes shallow in to the water.
Pets are also very welcome!
Next neighbour is about 1 km away.
Next small town is Vieremä, 12 km and Iisalmi 30 km. Airport Kuopio about 1,5 h driving and Kajaani about 1 h. There you can take a rental car.
National Park Talaskangas is about ½ h driving.
Kömmäkköniemi is an excellent place to spend your free time and relax.
