A bucolic and ecological haven for couples loving nature near Najac-in the wild valley of the river Viaur (Aveyron) - the beauty, calm, authenticity of this cottage will charm you! all with superior comfort (4 stars by prefectural order). This old barn has been restored with love by focusing on eco-efficient materials (cork, lime / hemp, lauzes of recovery, wood of strand). 55m2 on 3 levels - bright and spacious kitchen well equipped overlooking a beautiful sunny terrace (and private). Living room with sofa, multiple storage, TV, and mezzanine, bedroom (mattress BIO 160, recently purchased) under original beams, shower t. spacious, separate toilet. The cottage is totally independent of the main house. WIFI, telephone, and charges included. Possibility of barbecue / plancha in summer. Large parking and bike shed. Several most beautiful villages of France - Najac, Belcastel, Sauveterre Rouergue, Cordes sur Ciel and St Cyr Lapopie (the two favorite villages of the French in 2014 and 2015), near Albi (World Heritage Site of Unesco). Swimming in the Viaur, multiple hikes from the house, mountain bike trails, canoeing, horse riding, tennis, swimming pool (Najac), Via Ferrata (Bor and Bar) but also gourmet markets, flea markets, medieval festivals. We had an amazing time staying at this gite. It was well stocked and furnished and the hosts provided lots of recommendations in English and French. Nearby to some very cool villages like Cordes, Najac, Gaillac, Albi, Sant Cirq Lapopie and many more. Includes a beautiful garden to relax on your day off. Our only complaint is that the internet was unreliable (a mobile hotspot). It always seemed to cut out whenever we tried to do research or work.

Have never been to this area before so a first for us. The gite is spacious, well appointed and superb conversion. Plenty of room, comfortable bed and excellent large shower. The kitchen was well equipped with modern appliances. Parking was adjacent to the gite and the terrace outside the kitchen door was spacious enough to accommodate a table and 4 chairs and got the sun all day. Two addition sun loungers for use on a grassed area with drying line and also plenty of shade if needed. Only criticisms were that lighting could have been better in both the kitchen area, and the area over the bedroom sink. It would have been good to have some English written instructions in respect of the oven,hob and washing machine. And a little more about the area/wildlife/places to visit in the booklet provided. We have usually picked up ideas in the past from Visitors books and their comments but there was none provided. Overall a great stay and comfortable stay.

Staying at Lisou & Rick's gite was a pure delight. The gite is of the highest quality and lacked for nothing. It is south facing across their gorgeous garden and the terrace was a lovely place to have an evening meal, in perfect tranquillity. Lisou and Rick were the perfect hosts and happy to suggest places to walk or visit. You can walk from the gite down the valley to the Viaur river, or drive to the riverside. The river is probably the loveliest I've visited in France and there are many places to swim and walk. The rugged river valleys (Viaur & Aveyron) are more accessible than some in France and less isolated. Combined with rolling hills and many small farms, the wider area was delightful. There are many old villages and towns, castles and abbey's to explore and none felt too touristic. In conclusion, the Aveyron felt like a secret gem and Lisou & Rick's is the ideal place to explore the best of rural France. I will be back!

We loved our stay at Lisou and Rick's gite. Such a beautiful setting and they were perfect hosts - they had thought of everything in the gite, including maps for good walks you can do from the gite and around Najac. We hope to return one day soon!

Nous avons passé d’agréables vacances malgré la température extérieure nous étions bien dans la maison avec la clim. La cour nous a permis de profiter le soir et le matin de la nature et du jardin, sa beauté et sa tranquillité. Merci à Lisou et Rick pour leur accueil. Nous avons passé un très agréable séjour à Ginestous, destination idéale pour qui recherche le calme et l’authenticité. L’accueil de nos hôtes, Lisou et Rick, toujours disponibles et à l’écoute, a été particulièrement apprécié. Merci encore à eux pour leurs charmantes attentions. Ils ont fait de cet endroit un petit paradis. Le gîte est un petit cocon, décoré avec goût, où il fait bon vivre. Le gite proposé par Lisou et Rick, totalement conforme à la description figurant sur le site, nous a permis de passer un excellent séjour dans cette partie de l'Aveyron. La climatisation a été particulièrement appréciée sous une forte chaleur ! Nous retiendrons aussi les judicieux conseils de sorties : fêtes de village, concerts, bonnes adresses culinaires, circuits de randonnées...(il y'en a tant !) proposés par Lisou. Le coup de cœur que nous avions eu par rapport aux photos et à la description s'est confirmé. Le gîte est superbe, d'une propreté et d'un entretien parfaits et mérite largement ses 4 étoiles. Lizou et Rick sont des hôtes très accueillants, une attention délicate de Lizou à notre arrivée, petit bouquet de fleurs du jardin et confiture maison. Les différents guides de visites à disposition dans le gîte et leurs précieux conseils nous ont permis de profiter pleinement de cette belle région. Merci encore pour ce superbe séjour. et

La description de la location et de la situation étaient excellentes. Comme nous avons loué le gîte pendant une semaine nous avons beacoup apprecié le fait d’avoir des entrées privées en même temps qu’il était très facile de rentrer en contact avec les proprietaires à n’importe quel moment de la journée. Le gîte était très, très propre et bien disposé. Nous étions ravies de passer les vacances dans une location complètement authentique. Le soin porté à la restauration de cette ancienne grange était excellent. Les proprietaries nous ont donné beaucoup de bons conseils. En particulier nous avons apprécié les visites aux villages et villes du voisinage où nous avons dégusté des plats et des vins délicieux de la région. L’hospitalité et la générosité de la part des propriétaires ainsi que des gens du pays étaient merveilleuses. Une visite à refaire malgré le voyage assez long de la Suède!
