Was a lovely little cottage, everyone was very helpful and they even brought us a little cake to welcome us on the Saturday.

It was charming, well appointed, cozy and very comfortable. The hosts were great. It was perfect!

The location was good for what we needed and was nice and quiet, and the cottage was lovely and warm on arrival
The bed was comfortable, and good quality toilet roll provided.
The curtains were lovely and heavy to keep the light out.
We had no instruction from the owner on which cottage we had been allocated. We had to contact them.
The cottage was advertised as 4 star, personally for us this wasn't true. The kitchen units were all peeling, small detail, but the clock in the kitchen wasn't working. Water left in the kettle and coffee machine, and the toaster hadn't been cleaned.
Nothing in the shower to put soap, shampoo, etc, also black mould around shower tray, which could easily be rectified with some mould spray.
The bed linen was lovely and clean, but there were holes in places.
Cobwebs from the lights were like christmas decorations hanging.
The seating in the cottage was very worn.
We are not usually ones for complaining but felt on this occasion, these things needed pointing out.
The information folder provided needed to be updated as it was covid instructions.
This cottage needs to be updated for it to be classed as 4 stars.

It was lovely and quiet at night.
The bed was comfortable and the bathroom well appointed with nice big towels and plenty of hot water.
The view out of the bedroom window was grotty - overflowing wheelie bins.
Blinds on the large windows at the front would improve the privacy.
More cutlery would be useful.

A beautiful rural retreat but with quick easy access in to Newcastle centre, plus handy for Beamish Open Air Museum. Louise was v helpful looking after us very well - delicious cake 😋
And what a place to be staying when Newcastle beat Liverpool 2-1 to win the League Cup! Fantastic!!
Nothing!

The cottage had everything we would need and more. Angus and Louis gave us a lovely homemade cake and fresh eggs from their chickens when we arrived, which was such a nice touch. We were only a short drive away from Beamish ,which was the main reason for our visit, Metro and Durham. It is very central yet so quiet and peaceful. I would not hesitate to stay with them again. The morning we left, we had breakfast in the farmhouse, which was delicious and plenty of it. There is a supplement for this, and it is well worth it
Nothing negative

Tranquil location with pleasant walks nearby. Fully equipped kitchen and plenty of comfortable furniture. Our baby slept very well in the provided travel cot, and had a great time exploring the accomodation and seeing the animals in the farm.
The stairgate should be replaced.

I kept falling in the crack in the bed. I will get over it. I would still stay again.

Location really suited us.
Bed was very very comfortable, Angus was very hospitable, 1 bed was equipped with almost everything you would need.
Could have had a curtain at the back door, to give more privacy in the evening, also some brochures of things to see in the area.

I actually stayed at Katie's Cottage (after a change in room availability), which is nearby, and was very spatious, well-equipped and cosy.

Great location for Beamish and Newcastle area. Stunning views and high-quality rooms. The host provided a cake which was delicious. Short driving distance to some nice restaurants and shops.
Took me a while to locate the host for the keys. But another guest pointed me in the right direction. For those reading this and planning to stay, simply knock on the black door on the main farmhouse building.
