Villa Fantastic View

Clean and good location.

Several Mosquitos at usual times. Wasps were easy to deal with using DIY traps. Wasps were prolific this year in Kefalonia (as they were in UK after such a dry spring).

Loved the view - it lived up to its name! Loved fact that it wasn’t in a touristy area. Very spacious upstairs. Adored the fact that it was pink!

One shutter in the master bedroom can’t stay open because of the balcony so it banged. It just needs a clasp on the balcony railing instead of the door. The garden could do with a bit more colour. A planting scheme along both perimeters of the pool would work wonders. The vine on the pergola is a good idea but fuedng seem to be flourishing - another climber/creeper would give great shade.

The house has a very good lay out for a group. Bedrooms on the top floor and kitchen/ living room downstairs opening up onto the pool area. Peaceful and nice location with a great sea view.

Uncomfortable beds and pillows. Fruit trees in garden full of rotten fruits. Feels unloved and not looked after.

Very spacious, good pool. I was alone the first 3 nights before the rest of my family arrived, and when I accidentally locked myself out at 23:30 (I don’t drink!) the local contact did take the trouble to travel 20 minutes plus straight away to let me back in, though was not too pleased, understandably.

Nobody to meet me or take damage deposit, nobody to book us out, despite me specifying arrival and departure times (as requested) Booking.com advertises & sells in English, BUT does NOT translate between their paying guests and the property owner. Cleaner only seemed to change bed linen & towels, could see no evidence of cleaning. NO SHADE in main outside area by pool between about 09:30 & 17:00 except a parasol which blew over in the wind several times. Lack of information/welcome pack; lots of switches; apart from YouTube TV only useable (through free WiFi) and having to log in to our own existing subscriptions eg Netflix, Disney, etc; WiFi erratic & is NOT available in some areas; dishwasher same as mine though an older model didn’t clean properly until I cleaned the filter etc & bought good cleaning tablets; middle bedroom door handle came off on first opening it; there IS parking available off road BUT all hire car companies stress NOT to drive their cars off road, impossible to achieve in Kefalonia anyway; the advertising for the property on Booking.com is tenuous to say the least - attached photo (if they allow it) text highlighted in red not available or didn’t work, in yellow with red ? not available. Definitely not worth the cost, a shame, as it would not take a lot to make the property good again, or for Booking.com to check descriptions are accurate from time to time.
