Kauhale Makai Complex has great grounds and staff. Bedroom has king bed, brand new bamboo floor and flat screen tv. Livingroom has large flat screen tv and comfy pull out couch. Amazing new kitchen. Ocean views from every angle of the condo.
KAUHALE MAKAI ALSO KNOWN AS VILLAGE BY THE SEA The condo is #630 and boasts being the best located 1 bedroom in the complex. It is the
top floor with a penthouse view. There is NO parking lot view or noise. This one bedroom has a comfy king size bed, central air conditioned fully furnished oceanfront Condo. There is no one walking above you for any annoying noise.
In order to keep the complex in updated, clean, and current safety condition, there is always a possibility of some type of work/construction being done at the complex. The owner is not given any exact schedule for work.
The entire suite focuses on the awesome ocean views. Lanai off both living room and bedroom suite for whale watching and star gazing. It is the only lighted Lanai (with dimmer control) in the complex that you can enjoy a romantic dinner experience. On windy days – it’s a windsurfers paradise!
The bedroom has a king bed with a new bamboo floor and flat screen tv. We have added soft overhead lights to add to comfort and romance. The living room has a comfy pull-out couch. The living room features a new 55” HD 1080i Flat screen TV. Enjoy and relax. This is a six floor complex and we are on the sixth floor (there is an elevator) with unobstructed views from both the living room and bedroom. The beach is only a 100 foot walk across the complex lawn.
The expanded kitchen remodel was recently finished. This remodel stands out from the others at the complex. The old style half wall in the kitchen was removed to allow full view of the ocean from the entire kitchen while cooking and sitting at the counter bar. This opens up the whole modern kitchen and living area. The remodel includes new cabinets, appliances, and a amazing granite counter. Custom designed lighting was added to the kitchen, lanai, and bedroom areas to enhance your dining and romantic experience. This condo has it all!

We loved our week at Kauhale Makai! The unit itself was exactly as described and photographed in the VRBO listing. Several reviews mentioned a well-stocked kitchen - for those who like to know details, that included a drip coffee maker, a water filter, grilling tools for the community grills, tupperwares, ice trays in the freezer, dish soap, and some oil/vinegar/shoyu/spices leftover from past guests. There was also plenty of toilet paper and extra linens for bath and bed, and the TV is a smart TV that can connect to your apps.The furnishings are very classy and in excellent condition. That really made us feel at home while sitting around the living areas during our lazy holiday. The grounds at Kauhale Makai are beautiful with a large lawn leading to the beach, two pools and a hot tub. Over Christmas it was lively (in a fun, non-disruptive way) among the guests and owners! The beach was never crowded and the water was very clear and calm. We found the surrounding neighborhood challenging to walk in as there aren't pedestrian-friendly sidewalks in the surrounding blocks or along the route to the grocery store and shopping/restaurant areas. Hawai'i is very car-centric but given that the area is full of beachside condos I was a little surprised at the pedestrian inaccessibility.We would absolutely book Laurie's unit at Kauhale Makai again, and have already recommended it to friends! Mahalo nui loa for a lovely vacation!

This was a very quiet condo with a nice view in a relaxing part of Kihei. Was nice to be able to walk to the beach.

The unit is exactly as presented. Awesome ocean views, comfy furniture, and a lovely updated kitchen. Everything we needed was there; beach towels, ice chest, beach umbrella...nice appliances, and the best location on site. I highly recommend this unit and would love to go back. Did I mention the deep soaker tub and the lovely linens? I was traveling with my daughter, but with the soft lighting on the lanai, this would be great for a couple. Looking forward to another stay. Thanks Laurie.
