Winterfell - No Hidden Fees; Dog OK; King Bed

We really enjoyed our last minute overnight stay at Winterfell. Lynn was very accommodating and went out of her way to be sure we had everything we needed. The bed was very comfortable. It’s a very dog friendly place for Good Boys.🐾

Nice clean, comfortable unit with great bed and so many thoughtful touches! Snacks and drinks in the fridge and wonderful hospitality. Did I mention the quiet and smell of the pine forest? Highly recommend this place!

Lynn greeted us upon our arrival and she was fantastic !! Her beautiful baby girl dog Lupita greeted us as well! Very comfortable and had everything we would need for the weekend!!! We will be back !!!

We only stayed one night, but we were so impressed with our stay at Winterfell. Our hosts paid attention to little details (stocked snack shelves; chocolates) to make sure we were comfortable and our traveling four-legger enjoyed her stay too.

Very cute place with lots of amenities. Aaron was very helpful and e made sure we could navigate out of the snowy driveway and roads. Highly recommend.

Your in the big trees. Plenty of room the bed is very comfortable. Plenty of snacks and drinks. Aaron is nice and welcoming.

Great get-away from the busy Bay Area for a few days. Close to Murphy’s for shopping & restaurants. Moaning Caverns was a fun side trip. Sarafina’s was a very good restaurant in Arnold & close by. Make a reservation as they are busy.

This was such a wonderful place with a beautiful scenery. Close to Big Trees park and lakes, my 4 year old loved it

I hesitate to post this review as I'm afraid it will be hard to get reservations! But I have to - this little gem is absolutely perfect for a weekend getaway. My daughter and I wanted to get out of the valley and found this lovely room. The hosts have thought of absolutely everything - we brought our little dog and they had food and water dishes out for her, and bags to pick up after her. They had every kind of snack imaginable, lots of games and the most comfortable bed! I'm posting this review - but don't tell anyone!! We are definitely coming back!

Comfortable economy suite, great for a short getaway. A lot of attention to details like providing flashlights, citronella candle, snacks and convenience food for your arrival. Very convenient to get to Big Trees. Quiet neighborhood. Good for early risers like us, due to house acoustics you can hear foot steps upstairs.

Arrived at 4 pm (earliest check in time) after plans changed from a later stated check-in time and host, in his pajamas, acted somewhat put out as he had laundry going in out unit? Found out our unit apparently housed laundry room for owner and two other rooms being rented out. Although weather turned cool before our arrival we were told by owner, contrary to the VRBO listed amenities, the A/C would NOT be set to accommodate our request if we wanted it set lower than 75 degrees (owner suggested we cancel our reservation and take the 50% penalty if we wanted the unit cooler than 75 degrees and he'd give us the other 50% if he was able to rent the unit). Both nights we stayed we loudly heard somebody walking around upstairs until the early hours of the morning and heard during the night somebody in a space next to us which we'd believed was storage and had a locked "private" door in our unit accessing such. There is no sink to wash dirty dishes, glasses or cups. There were several motion detector sensors at knee level in the unit which the owner had claimed were temperature monitors. We photographed them and confirmed they were motion detectors. After determing this it seemed like everytime we walked in the unit at night we'd hear the footsteps upstairs or noise in the space. The first morning the owner opened the garage door at 8 am and we could hear him on the other side of yet another "private" locked door in our unit and light coming in from under that door. The only "good" thing was a frig and cabinet well stocked with coffee, tea and food but closer inspection revealed more than half the "fresh" items had expired dates on them, some by months including yogurts. We did help ourselves to much of the non-expired items including most of the sweets!

I’m so glad I found this place. The owner is amazing , very sweet and had everything ready when we got there. The location was exactly what I wanted away from town and in the forest. The bed was very comfy , even the roll away was comfy. The layout is perfect and you can’t beat that price. We are definitely coming back.

This is a great place. Quiet, wooded. The host had snacks available. We forgot some hot coco for the cool night, and they had some for us! Already planning another trip. Thanks for the hospitality!!

Had so much fun, so comfortable. Tv playback a little wonky at times but overall landlord was so nice, there were sweet daffodils outside by the deck. Great place.

The Host was great with communication and the hospitality upon arrival as well as during the stay was great. The location was good once we figured out the shorter route to Hwy 5 on moran road it was quick to get to ski resort. The host thinks of all things you can possibly need available, those details really made it feel like home. It was so quiet and peaceful. We came up during winter there was little snow around and not too cold, we deffinitly wanna be back in warm weather to check the area out. It was perfect foe our family of 3. Thank you again!

Both blinds were broken, no closet, there is a wall rack instead, bath could use a towel bar, heating inadequate for January, 4 pm check in is a bit late, with a $20 service charge, they're kidding about "no hidden fees" internet is slow and spotty,

Very gracious hosts, Aaron and Lynn provide for everything, way beyond what is expected and I am sure this is very much appreciated by unprepared travelers. My daughter and I came prepared but appreciated the amazing array of goodies they stock up on free of charge for their guests, how incredibly generous and thoughtful! The bed is very comfortable and warm, the space is quiet and private, and location is great! We hope to be back some day, and highly recommend Winterfell (cool name too!)! Thank you Aaron and Lynn!

The hosts are spot on for supplying everything you need! Relaxing and close to lake fun. I look forward to our next visit to Arnold.

What else can be said? Super comfy, a cool gnome guy atop the bedding, superb amenities, and extra space-y. YOU KNOW NOTHING JON SNOW

The room resembled a petite suite. It was a safe and quiet room with the forest around us, but only 5 minutes away from shopping, groceries, dining out , etc. The room had everything needed; refrigerator, tv, bar, landline phone, picnic table outside with comfortable deck chairs, microwave, toaster, hot water for tea, Keurig coffee maker, coffee, tea, breakfast items and more. Property hosts available and accommodating. Would recommend to any couple, a couple with a child/teen, two or 3 friends or like us, grandparents with a grandchild. We will be booking this property, again.

The room was nice. The pictures are very accurate. The owners went above and beyond and are very good at communicating. Early January cold outside temperatures the room was comfortable. TV was a bit of a challenge with the Firestick. Overall Good to Great. We would come back if the room was available and we were in the area....

Very peaceful stay in a lovely wooded setting. The property has everything you need to be comfortable, and the hosts are very communicative and friendly. Would stay again.

I found this place because I wanted to visit my Aunt in Arnold but didn't want to stay with her. I was pleasantly surprised to find this nice place near her. The owners were excellent in there communication and were right there to greet me when I pulled in. Everything was just as they described. It's very clean! It's not a big place, but for a few days it's perfect. They have thoughtfully supplied many items that you might want during your stay. I highly recommend this place if you are going to Arnold for a few days.

Our hosts were incredibly welcoming, responsive, generous, helpful and informative. We had a wonderful weekend hiking, exploring and swimming. Lovely space to relax and rejuvenate. Our hosts helped us when we had car troubles. We are already planning our return trip.
