About this cottage rental
Originally built in the 1920's and newly renovated in 2018/2019, Acorn cottage is a charming single level, two bedroom, 2 bathroom cottage in the small village of Bacova, Virginia. Each bedroom has a bathroom attached. Centrally located in Bath County, it is minutes away from Lake Moomaw, Warm Springs, Hot Springs and the historic Omni Homestead Resort. The cottage is 8 miles, (about 12 minutes) from the Homestead Resort. A great home base for anyone looking to get away and explore Bath county's beautiful hiking trails and fishing holes.
****At the recommendation of our County Health department, due to COVID we have added the following procedures for staying at Acorn Cottage.
To protect our guests, housekeeper and ourselves, we are leaving a 2 day gap between each guests stay.
The cottage is deep cleaned between each reservation, which includes sanitizing all doorknobs, light switches, telephones and remotes. We also run a whole house circulating fan between each guests stay.
During, and at the end of their stay, we ask all guests to seal and put their trash to the garbage bins located in the garage at the cottage. (Tom or I will stop by the garage every three days or so and take the trash to the transfer station.)
Guest should run all their dishes through the dish washer.
The small washer and dryer in the cottage are for guest's convenience, (we have a commercial washer and dryer we use for all the cottage linens.) At checkout, guests should place all used linens (towels, bathmats etc.) in the cloth laundry bags provided and leave the bags in the back hall of the cottage for pick up. We will take care of stripping the beds, and wash all sheets and blankets.

We had a great stay here and it was perfect location for our tournament we were playing in at the Homestead. It was very well laid out and accommodating. One suggestion and I have made this a couple of places. Not everyone is familiar with smart TV's so having clear instructions for us older folks would be most helpful. Also the second bath is very deep so care needs to be taken there. Otherwise we were very happy and would definitely consider staying again and I would highly recommend it. One other very nice addition was the local news paper of things happening in the area. We definitely utilized the information there.

Check in was really easy, the hosts were very responsive. The kitchen is so nice! Everything we needed was provided. WiFi was fast. The bath and shower were amazing. We loved the porches in the front and back. We make a cabin trip every year and this year the rental was 10/10

Our stay at Acorn Cottage was absolutely wonderful. The check-in process was smooth and easy, with clear instructions provided by the host. The cottage was clean, cozy, and well-maintained, with all the kitchen facilities we needed for a comfortable week-long stay. The location is peaceful and surrounded by beautiful nature — perfect for relaxation and quiet mornings. We especially appreciated the attention to detail and thoughtful touches that made us feel at home. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking to enjoy a calm getaway in Bath County.
