About this house rental
The Finca Molino los Arcos is a completely renovated Andalusian watermill which is very quiet and away from tourism. The mill is part of a three-hectare plot that can be found 615 m above sea level. The detached cottage with about 140 square meters of living space is well insulated against heat and cold and has three bedrooms, a spacious open kitchen overlooking the terrace, a bathroom with shower and a bathroom with bath, two courtyards and a large living area of cozy is set up. There is a large dining table where the whole family will find space and a comfortable seating area. Through a round door is the sleeping area which is located in the rear of the house separated from the living area. In front of the house is the covered terrace including a brick bench. Even after sunset, a wonderful place to stay under a clear starry sky for undisturbed breathing and relaxing.
Beaches: 25 km away is the Cabo de Gata Natural Park with beautiful beaches. (Films like 'The Baron von Münchhausen' and scenes for 'Indiana Jones' were filmed here).
Swimming Pool: Season from 1st May to 30th September
The finca is the starting point for mountain bike tours in the Sierra Alhamilla
Circuito de Almeria Motorcycle Circuit: The Circuito de Almeria Motorcycle Circuit is about 40 km away
The racetrack is about 4 kilometers from Tabernas and is an ideal 'Aufzünd-Areal' for the cold winter months.
Almeria is a typical Spanish race track. The gravel beds and run-off zones were completely renewed in 2007 and now meet the standard of GP routes.
In the winter months, the German driver elite meets here to test.

About a 15 minute drive outside the town of Nijar, voted one of the most beautiful towns in Spain. The house is simple, but very clean and in a nice quiet location. It is located on the Ruta del agua (water route), which was a perfect adventure for our 10 year old son. The location is up in the mountains, so walking is quite strenuous, but worth the effort.
You can drive to the coast in about 40 minutes, with beautiful secluded beaches and great walking areas, as well as plenty of local shops and restaurants.
In summary, we very much recommend this cottage as a location for people who enjoy nature and prefer piece and quiet over quick access to bars/restaurants.

The scenery is like something from a Spaghetti Western, so here's my review.
The Good : Property had everything needed for a long stay, bottled water, logs for the burner and a fully equipped kitchen. Loads of space, nice bathrooms loads of towels and satellite tv and a decent wifi connection.
The Bad : Outdoor space could be better, could do with a fenced area for dogs or young children and some sunbeds for relaxing.
The Ugly: Dead mouse in the pool, in fairness the pool wasn't in use as we were there in March.
Overall we enjoyed our stay up in the mountains, the property felt like a mountain hideaway. Lovely walking all around but for a Few Dollars More the outside space could be improved and it wouldn't take a Fistfull of Dollars to get some comfortable seating outside.
Sadly we had to cut our trip to Spain short because one of our dogs fell ill, but Peter, the property manager, allowed us to stay an extra night when it looked like we were going to be stranded. So thanks Peter.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The house is very quiet and peaceful, away from any noise. The beds are comfortable and there are shutters on the windows, so we slept very well. There are nice walks nearby, up to the little enclave of Huebro and down to Nijar. The drive up to the house is spectacular with great views! Theres plenty to do in the area around Almeria so we were very active all week.
