I liked the location.

I didn't like that it wasn't clean. There was a lot of dust, and the floor was dirty. It would have been great if they had provided slippers so we wouldn't have to walk barefoot on the dirty floor. Also, there were hairs on the sheets of one of the beds, which didn't leave a good impression on me. It was cold outside, so we wanted to cover ourselves with blankets at night. We didn’t find them until the second day, stuffed in a high cabinet that’s hard to reach. Plus, those blankets probably hadn’t been washed in years. They smelled really bad and were dusty. We had to beat them and air them out all day. I would recommend keeping a bottle of water in the apartment as a courtesy to your guests. We arrived late in the evening, and there were no stores open where we could buy water, and we didn’t feel comfortable drinking from the tap.

Clean, well equipped kitchen with large fridge, coffee maker etc. Decent WiFi and TV. Lots of wardrobe space, 2 bathrooms, one with shower, one with bath. Hot water plentiful. 10 minute walk to the town centre, where supermarkets, restaurants and town beach are located. Lots of free on street parking available. Handy for access to TF1 highway and yet close to beaches. About 1 hour 10 minutes to drive to the Teide cable car, recommend a trip up for the views.

El Medano is close to the airport and flights run 06.00 until 23.59. If you are used to a noisy environment it may not bother you, but otherwise suggest earplugs at night, as even with the windows closed it was often loud enough inside to wake you or drown out the TV. The apartment is in a large block that felt a bit oppressive, your only views are into others windows. Could do with a couple of extra fans, as rather hot inside at night even in early December. There is no air-conditioning, although thats usually not an issue in the Canaries. Although it was unrelated to the apartment, I would also plan journeys west especially around the Los Cristianos area. We got stuck in the worst traffic jam I have seen in years there on the TF1 . Not accident related, just congestion. It shouldn't take 2 hours to go 6 km....

The apartment is located in a very good location close to the sea. Parking is on the street and there is always a place for parking. We didn't miss anything in the apartment and there was everything we needed. The apartment is clean. Really good value for money. We will definitely come back. Collecting the keys was quick and easy, as the host lurd us in front of the apartment.

Everything was fine and we missed nothing

Very clean, friendly greeting. The location was perfect for us which is why we chose it.

5The house seemed very austere. The only art is in the lounge. It is abstract and poorly situated. There are no pictures or wall decorations in any other rooms. Seems so unwelcoming. The shower brackets in both showers are wrong. If you put the shower head in its bracket upstairs then you shoot water straight across the bath. The small shower downstairs is so tight 60cm square that it is uncomfortable to use especially with all the fittings sticking out. The terrace is small, overlooked and we didn't see it get any sun. The keys are a nightmare. Trying to open the back door at night was dreadful. There is a light which would have been great if there was any way to turn it on. It turns out you have to pull the door as well as turn the key as the lock is a little out of alignment. Fine when you know the trick! Upstairs toilet does not flush so much as trickle but the downstairs one works fine. The house is dark even with all the shutters as open as possible. The furniture is a mix of dark wood and IKEA which just look wrong together. If you are off to IKEA then buy some pictures too! We have stayed in half a dozen places in el Medano and all of them had been IKEA'd up to the hilt. Not original but comfortable and doesn't clash. The lovely white leather sofa in the pictures has been covered with a purple throw which just looks horrid. I know this is me being picky but added all together the general look and feel coupled with the small but important facilities issues means we will not re book here.
