Villa Felice Marzamemi

Once we found the property we were grateful for the warm welcome and the helpful tips regarding the local area. We were not aware of the 'seaside holiday ' nature of the village which will get very busy in the height of the season. The accommodation was spotless and fully equipped , if a little dated. However that is in keeping with the character of the area which is predominantly an area for family holidays. There were no bars nor clubs and the restaurants in the historic port area provided family friendly Italian food without the fuss of hi-end catering expected in the more exotic resorts. There were guest houses and B&B accommodations but no hotels. There was no pretence to provide an 'international menu' A covered verandah area made a pleasant spot for outdoor eating and relaxation out of the fierce sun. Good supermarket 5km drive but a distinct lack of local shops.for

We did not receive the message which was expected to give us final directions to the property and it took some time and a good deal of broken Italian to determine where we should be. By the nature of the environment parking was controlled, limited on street and a couple of parking field all of which charge (5 Euro per visit) and this soon mounted up to an unexpected cost.

Struttura meravigliosa dotata di tutti i confort,pulita,silenziosa e a 5 minuti dal centro di Marzamemi. E’ dotata anche di posto macchina e circondata da un Bellissimo giardino. Comoda anche per chi volesse muoversi e visitare questa parte della Sicilia. I proprietari,Carmela ed Enzo, sono persone gentilissime e straordinarie.

Carmela, Enzo and Felice are wonderful hosts- attentive, but not intrusive. Having let them know our arrival time, they greeted us, letting us in the locked gate, and showed us around. The grounds were beautiful - palms and cacti; an oasis of calm and greenery. There was a table and chairs for outside eating, and a BBQ which we used. The apartment was spotlessly clean, and well equipped. There was water in the fridge, and Sicilian cakes on arrival. They also left us a melon and watermelon. Carmela gave us three jars of her homemade jam as a leaving gift. They allowed us to leave our luggage after checking out, so we could spend the day on the beach, and let us use the shower before catching our late flight. We recommend San Lorenzo beach - a short drive from Marzememi.

Carmela and her husband were wonderful hosts! we felt every day like coming home to our family. the apartment was very clean and we had everything that we needed. The villa is situated 10 min away from center and it was the perfect place to stay and doing daily roadtrips. Also our 2 year old loved the place, he was able to run around as the garden has fences around to the street. He was enjoying the time very much at Villa Felice and we were all sad that we had to leave again. We can totally recommend that place to stay!
