Nestled among pinion, juniper, and ponderosa pines, our hand-crafted, custom-built, non-smoking home is designed to maximize the breathtaking views. The modern home boasts coved plaster ceilings, log vigas, and a traditional northern New Mexico colonial-style pitched roof. It’s many windows provide ample natural light and frame the mountain views, while the southern exposure helps keep the house warm and bright all winter. Take in the views from the expansive covered porch or one of the two private upper balconies or relax on the large south-facing deck.
Guests have keyless entry for convenient access to the property. Security cameras are installed and pointed towards the driveway for safety and added peace of mind.
Inside, the four bedrooms include a master bedroom downstairs and two bedrooms upstairs, both with large private balconies featuring southern views of the Truchas mountain range, one with a view of Taos Ski Valley mountain. The living room boasts a large fireplace, perfect for unwinding and enjoying the warmth of a roaring fire. The kitchen is fully equipped for all your cooking needs, featuring a Jenn-Air range and beautiful local handmade tile countertops that adds a unique touch of elegance to the space. Casa Dos Burros is equipped with radiant floor heating, controlled easily by wall-mounted Nest thermostats, ensuring a comfortable stay.
Soothe your sore muscles after a long day on the slopes or trails by relaxing in the outdoor hot tub. In the winter, the property is often blanketed with snow, providing a perfect place for kids to enjoy sledding on the slope near the driveway. In the summer, bring your mountain bike and explore the trails that can be reached directly from the house.

NOTE: Please note that our vacation home is accessed via a 1.8-mile county-maintained dirt road (Gallina Canyon Road). In certain conditions such as snow, a 4-wheel drive vehicle is recommended. The road is regularly plowed and sanded during snow events and is graded multiple times a year to ensure accessibility for residents and guests.
The entire home is yours to enjoy with ample parking.

A peaceful and serene getaway. The road to get to the house was a little rough and quite narrow in some areas. The basement which houses the laundry room and more beds smelled musty and seemed to be "unfinished." Cooking sheets and outside of some frying pans had a heavy buildup of grime. Overall experience was quite nice and my grandchildren enjoyed the ping pong table. Thank you, Juan!

We enjoyed the quiet location just 25 minutes from Taos. Earlier reviews indicate that most people book during the winter months. Since there is no A/C and no screens on the 4 french doors and some windows and blinds do not open properly, it was difficult to move air throughout the main and upper floors even with the aid of the fans and closing blinds during the day during our 10 day June stay...so the cooler months would be more comfortable time to stay. The owner is very responsive to calls/texts (no functioning ice maker, backed up toilets, propane leak) but we wished these items had been taken care of prior to our arrival. The kitchen is well-stocked with a few exceptions (6 bowls for a home that can hold large family groups and just a few wine glasses). The kitchen needs a deep clean as does the grill (despite burning the grease off). The covered front porch and spacious rear deck were ideal. We loved the warm tub - better than a hot tub on hot days - and the large dining room table (cushions on the hard chairs and bench would be a welcome addition). Beds and linens were comfortable. Condition of the exterior and grounds need attention. Overall, we would rate this property as an 8 and our host as a 10.

We had a great time at the cabin. The views were beautiful and enjoyed the hot tub and ping pong table after a day of skiing. About a 20 minute drive to the ski mountain.

Great property to stay at for skiing in Taos Ski Valley. The house was stocked with everything we needed. The host was very responsive and accommodating.
