About this house rental

Absolutely gorgeous downtown waterfront home. Loaded with historical significance and character, all while minutes walking distance to museums, restaurants and festivities on Main Street Annapolis. This home has a deep water slip for up to 40 feet. There are also kayaks and canoes guests may enjoy. And if you aren't up for the short walk to ego alley?... Take the water taxi, they will pick you up and bring you back to 5’s dock. This locally legendary house has had only 2 owners since 1936, each with deep ties to USNA and USMA. It is truly a family home they are happy to share. It’s not a ‘rental’ and the owners desire guests who will treat the home as their own. It is their joy to share this little gem with people who love Annapolis and it’s history.

This home is the definition of tranquility as a virtually secret place in the middle of a city. Tucked away on the waterside of Southgate Ave., it is peaceful, quiet and completely private. Sleeps six adults and two children comfortably. Fully equipped kitchen. Laundry on-site. Walking distance to everything Annapolis. This home is truly one of a kind.

Note that there is street parking only. The photo of the driveway aims at showing the guests that the entrance to the home is down the driveway and behind 7 Southgate Avenue. This home was built in 1936 for the daughter of the then owners of 7 Southgate. Hence the legacy access. There are multiple garages that are less than .4 of a mile away if extended M-F daytime parking is needed. 2 hour weekday limit but no night or weekend parking restrictions. Both uptown and downtown Annapolis are easy walking distance from Southgate Avenue through beautiful Murray Hill.

We loved this property. It was so nice to enjoy the views on the water in the morning and at night. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of towels and soaps and shampoos for the bathroom. They provided coffee and the coffee make makes great coffee. Erin was wonderful and called me the day before to tell me how to get in to the property. The water taxis were so nice to be able to get around as well. The house has wonderful history attached to it and it is just decorated so nicely. Sofas and chairs are comfortable. The kitchen is well appointed if you want to cook. I will definitely book this house again.

This cottage is set on the water with a wonderful deck and lounge area with a view and kayaks that we used to get to know the area. The neighborhood is very nice and a walk to town. There are 3 sets of bunk beds and one king bed. The house was adequate for our needs for the week and a reasonable drive time to DC. The only suggestion for improvement would be to declutter the place. Every cupboard, shelves, under sink, closets and drawers were stuffed with tools, cleaning products, sheets, family photos and memorabilia. The kitchen is tiny and the sink is covered with appliances that we had to move and store in the water closet off the kitchen so we had a place to put our groceries. There are old electronics everywhere in the downstairs. The security camera’s everywhere inside are creepy. Just declutter the place. The cottage is charming with great history and is a gem if it were cleaned up for short term rental purposes. Currently it feels like grandma moved out for the week so we could stay there. I would stay here again if declutterred though. Charming location and neighborhood. Great value.
