This adorable A-frame home served as the perfect get away on a few cold & dreary winter days. Two couples grilled up some nice steaks (a few handy spices were in the cupboard), played some board games (from the stash in the closet), watched movies on the big flatscreen tv and kept toasty by the fireplace. Firewood was supplied for the 1st night and we easily picked up some extra bundles of wood just down the road for $5. The homeowners were communicative and paid attention to all the necessary details. Just remember to bring your own towels and toiletries. We thoroughy enjoyed our stay! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars has NOTHING to do with the cabin or the host. It was a logistical thing... We got lucky and arrived at 3:55pm, so we were 1st in line and check in at the office was relatively quick. But there was a long line out the door as we left and the receptionist was not the warm and fuzzy type that you would expect to be greeting vacationers. Additionally, renting a place in the Hideout community adds amenities fees to your stay and, at least in the winter, you don't get much of any amenities for those fees. There was no snow, and the lake was mostly drained. I suspect the summer months offer more to take advantage of, so just keep that in mind. Again, Nicole DID mention the amenities fees during the booking process, so there wasn't a problem with the host/property owner. And as long as you budget for it, I think this place is great!

We rented for a wedding at the Hideout. This house is adorable ! We were 6 adults and fit comfortably. Bring your own towels we had to go buy some. Could use some updating but overall a great stay! Lots of leaves this time of year pretty but slippery!

We loved this place. This cabin was one of the cleanest places we had been; My family loved to cook, so there was everything in the kitchen for us to use. The furniture is beautiful, and I recommend you to sleep on the second floor. It's a nice experience. The lake and pool were clean and beautiful as well. There were not a lot of people during the week, which we liked. Only on Saturday got a little busy, but nothing crazy. This very quiet area was perfect for my husband, who does not like a lot of noise. I am already thinking about when I could go back. The place was so big that we did not have time to see everything. It is a kid-friendly place to visit. There are stores closed and restaurants as well. I can say things that can be improved, but they were not that serious, and also, I am not a perfectionist, so I leave that to the owner.
