Astra, Pyrgos Sareli 1690 - a Heritage Mansion

Everything!! It is a fabulous place to stay. It is in a fine location giving fabulous views. There are many original and interesting features in the very spacious rooms. The property has great style inside and out. Aidonia is an attractive little village and the nearby natural spring is good for fresh drinking water. Maria is a marvel: so helpful and thoughtful. Ormos Korthiou has an excellent beach, a choice of great restaurants and is a very pleasant place to stroll and sit and enjoy watching what is around you. Superb!

We had the most wonderful stay in Korthi, Andros, thanks to Maria’s incredible hospitality. She is such a kind, friendly, and positive host with a huge heart, who truly went above and beyond to make our holiday unforgettable. ‏The rooms were beautiful, spotless, and well-maintained, and we absolutely loved the pool area – everything was so well cared for and inviting. Maria gave us fantastic recommendations for places to visit on the island, which made our trip even more special. We left feeling grateful and happy, and we can’t wait to come back. Highly recommended!

If you enjoy old world charm, are in good physical condition and pack light, then this place is for you. Everything said previously here is true, including the hospitality of the host Maria. But there are a few things you need to be aware of.

No one has mentioned the fact that this place has no air conditioning. We were there during a heat wave and sleeping was very difficult even with fans running. Parking is limited on the property and a bit challenging if you have a standard transmission. There is street parking nearby, then you climb a hill back up to the property. After that there are 29 steps up to the "ground floor" and another 14 steps to the next level. Once you get to your room you are advised you cannot roll your suitcase on the wood floors so by the time you are in your room you need a shower. People need to be warned this place is not suitable for anyone with mobility issues.

Beautiful property, friendly host.

The location is not good if you do not have a car, limited public transport, and over a mile out of town. Also very quiet area - a bit disconcerting when alone.
