The dinner was amazing! We hiked from Les Contamines-Montjoie and we got the cable car back. The staff were fabulous and very helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Perched at the head of the Hauteluce valley, the chalet has stunning views of the surrounding mountain slopes and the Barrage at La Girotte. Breakfast and dinner on the lawn or terrace were beautifully quiet and peaceful, with the occasional whistle of a marmot. The location is perfect for starting mountain walks, and Nellie, our host, was a mine of information on where to go. Her home-cooked 3/4 course dinners were absolutely delicious.

Exceptional

The location was a bit far for us since we didn’t have a car. Luckily we met a nice truck driver to give us a ride in a rainy day. The staff is awesome 👏 the dinner and breakfast are delicious. Overall, we really had a good time and enjoyed our stay.

Great for a true treat on your TMB.

The best accommodation on our tour de Mont Blanc! It is not on the direct route but it can be easily included in the itinerary between Les Contamines and Bonhomme (via Col de Joly and the Col de la Fenetre) which we highly recommend. Most beautiful place with a luxury Alpine feel, delicious home made food and a truly warm welcome. In the lounge area with a cosy fireplace, we enjoyed a refreshing pre-dinner drink. And from the dining room, you can watch the sun set behind the mountains.

There was absolutely nothing to dislike.

Lovely hosts, breathtaking views, worth staying 2 nights and not travelling between.

Friendly staff who actually came out and looked for us when we could not find the property, due to the sat nav location sent by Booking.com leaving us 8+ km short. Meal was very nice for meat eaters and included complementary wine with the meal.

Direcctions, if we knew it was 1.8km from the top of the Col du Joly it would have been much easier, we turned back before this point as felt we had passed all dwellings by that point. Perhaps also a sign somewhere on the way up the hill to tell us to keep going! Vegetarian meal was a little strange, as saute zuccihni but with the pasta and sauce from the meat dish. Believe many vegitarians would not eat this on principle.

A return visit

Stayed in this wonderful hotel last year and decided I needed to bring some friends to experience how incredible it is. It did not disappoint and the cleanliness and Covid preparation were also excellent. When the swimming lake is finished this property really will have it all.

There are no indication of which road to take to the place, where one of the roads is accessable only by 4x4. On the way to the hotel take road passing Hauteluce, do not come from Contamines side (that road is not accessible by usual car)

Natura, entorn, instal·lacions i acolliment excepcional.

És un lloc excepcional, insuperable, si t'agrada la muntanya és simplement increible. La bellesa de l'entorn i de la casa no tenen comparació. I l'amabilitat de la propietaria i la seva familia és insuperable. També cal destacar la qualitat del sopar i l'oferiment diari de preparar-nos un pic-nic per endur-nos per anar a caminar. Ens ho varem passar molt bé, i el nostre gos també va gaudir moltíssim en total llibertat! Sempre recordaré aquest lloc i ja tinc ganes de tornar-hi.

Étape a ne surtout pas manquer si vous passez dans le coin, site exceptionnel.

Sur un site d'une rare beauté, nous avons été reçu par des hôtesses d'une grande gentillesse et disponibilité. Je n'oublie pas la cuisinière qui nous a régalée. Le chalet est sublime, d'une grande propreté à deux pas d'un col donnant un panorama sur le Mont Blanc.

Juste parfait

Vraiment incroyable !!!! L’emplacement paradisiaque, dans les montagnes, au bout du monde. Le chalet est magnifique, décoré avec goût, la propriétaire et ses filles sont d’une gentillesse remarquable. Tout est de qualité (petit déjeuner mais aussi les équipements, literie, etc) et les repas du soir sont entièrement faits maison. Et le must : l’accueil des chiens sans supplément, notre loulou a bien sympathisé avec la petite Stella. Nous avons passé un moment extraordinaire, encore merci !

Séjour fabuleux dans un lieu exceptionnel, ambiance familiale et chaleureuse !

Situation géographique parfaite pour partir en ballade, panier déjeuner possible et de qualité. Nelly vous accueille avec sa fille (et Stella la mascote :-)) et son équipe très chaleureusement dans son chalet qui est un vrai petit paradis! Vue exceptionnelle sur la vallée, de bons conseils pour la rando. Excellent diner et très copieux. Séjour parfait, merci !

Literie un peu dure pour les dos fragiles mais je ne suis pas une référence.

Nous avons apprécié passer une nuit dans cet hôtel. Le dîner était excellent. Le personnel adorable et la vue magnifique. Bravo !

Attention à la route pour venir. Éviter de faire comme nous qui avons suivi Waze qui nous a indiqué de passer par les contamines. Accès impossible. Nous avons dû revenir sur nos pas et passer par le col du Joly, ce qui nous a fait perdre une bonne heure…

Merveilleux sejour

Nous avons tout apprécié au Choton. L’accueil chaleureux de Nelly et d’Alicia sa fille qui nous ont tout de suite mis à l’aise. La chambre cosy était très confortable, très propre. Le feu dans la cheminée était réconfortant après une bonne journée de marche et le repas toujours délicieux et équilibré, tout comme le petit déjeuner très complet. C’est la première fois que nous avons envie de revenir.
