About this house rental
§ The Accommodation
Il Trullo della rosa has been published in two books "TRULLI living & hosting" Congedo editore and "Country Chic Living" by Marta Serrats.
Sophisticated trullo, consisting of 5 cones and a renovated lamia, 3 bedrooms, two bathrooms, two living rooms with sofa bed, a kitchen and a magnificent outside for outdoor dining, resting on the beautiful cushions of the brick sofas and a swimming pool between the olive trees obtained in an ancient "iazzo".
The floors are in old stone, the stone sinks, the walls are dry, beautiful stone vaults will cradle your rest.
A panoramic rustic-chic trullo conversion with fabulous outdoor spaces. Trullo della Rosa sits on a hill top at the end of a private white road that lead to the 1. 5-hectare estate planted with lawns, olive and fruit trees and colorful flowers.
A hop, skip and a jump away from the house across a lawned area, is the lovely pool area, complete with shower and surrounded by rose, flowers, rosemary and lavender, olive trees.
Back near the house, and easily accessed from the kitchen, is the lovely al fresco dining area and the huge U shaped cushion-covered stone sofa, where guests are destined to last long into the starry night ...
Thanks to the thick trulli stone walls, designed to keep the house cool in the summer and warm in the winter, there is no need of air-conditioning.

- linen, towels
- electricity, water (from artesian well)
- swimming pool with deck chairs and sun loungers
- kitchen and necessary for outdoor dining
- washing machine, dishwasher, oven and iron
- bbq
- external masonry sofas for relaxing on warm summer evenings
- pergola with masonry table where it is wonderful to have breakfast in the morning in the silence and coolness before facing the hot Apulian days

guests will interact with the house keeper who will be available for any information or desire.
§ The district
The TRULLO della ROSA is located in the countryside 7 km from the city center of Ceglie Messapica.
To reach the Trullo della Rosa from Brindisi airport it takes about 40 minutes and from Bari an hour
Ceglie Messapica is located on the border between the Itria valley and Salento, known as the "city of art and gastronomy".
In the summer the two patronal festivals are truly fascinating, in fact the whole of Ceglie is decorated with wonderful lights, you are immersed in a moment in the atmosphere of the festivals of southern Italy.
Ceglie Messapica is located at 300 meters above sea level, for this reason it enjoys an excellent climate, so much so that already in 1800 it was chosen as a destination for summer holidays.
Some argue that the origins of the city are attributable to Diomedes returning from the Trojan War, but the safest news dates back to 1300 BC. c. It appears that Herodotus wrote of Ceglie (Kalia) which was the capital of Messapia.
The historic center is a succession of narrow streets of chianche, stone arches overlooked by noble palaces with beautiful portals, courtyards and small squares.

Do not forget that Puglia is one of the most important Italian wine producing regions.
The Primitivo di Manduria or the Negramaro are very famous, strong and decisive wines like the land that produces them.
§ A tour in the surroundings
The Trullo della Rosa is located in a strategic position, ideal for day trips to cultural sites such as Ostuni, Cisternino, Martina Franca, Polignano a mare, the magnificent Lecce, or to enjoy a day at the beach on the coasts of the two Apulian seas, in fact, you can reach the beaches on the Adriatic Sea in about 25 minutes, while those on the Ionian Sea take about 45 minutes, despite the fact that the swimming pool offers a very valid alternative to the crowds in August.
Puglia is a wonderful region of Southern Italy, now also known as "Southern Tuscany".

The home and surrounding area is stunning. The owners were amazing to work with, so very helpful and accommodating. They helped make this a family trip we will never forget. My family and I highly recommend this rental for both couple and families. We didn’t want to leave.

Nous avons passé 15 jours merveilleux dans cette très belle propriété à la décoration soignée. La maison, située au milieu d'oliviers et de figuiers est d'une tranquillité absolue. Les espaces extérieurs sont agréables et bien aménagés que ce soit le coin repas, le coin lounge ou la piscine. Le jardin est tout aussi soigné que la décoration intérieure. Le Trullo est situé à Ceglie Messapica, endroit central dans les Pouilles d'où vous pouvez visiter toute la région; entre la mer ionienne et la mer adriatique, ce qui vous laisse un grand choix de plages (entre 1/2 heure et 3/4 d'heure en voiture). Enfin, vous pouvez compter sur la gentillesse des propriétaires (Emanuele parle très bien le français) qui bien que n'étant pas sur place sont toujours disponibles pour vous fournir conseils, astuces et adresses de restaurants, lieux à visiter, ateliers d'artisans qui nous font gagner un temps fou. En résumé, un endroit parfait pour des vacances parfaites.

The villa is perfectly situated close to the historic town of Ceglie, but just far enough away to feel like you’ve got away from everything. We loved the central location which meant we were able to explore many of the interesting villages and towns of Puglia a short drive away.
The villa is beautiful- simple, rustic, but elegantly fitted out with everything you need to make your stay comfortable and has a real sense of place. The surrounding gardens and pool with their fragrant roses and Mediterranean plants are a lovely oasis to enjoy after a day out exploring.
Special mention to the wonderful host, who provided us with so many great tips on places to visit and restaurants to dine at. We absolutely loved our first visit to this region of Italy and return home a little heavier- both from the delicious food as well as weighed down with the ceramics from the region!
