About this villa rental
Villa Veghέra is a spacious, comfortable home near the small town of Kissamos. Amazing views and facilities will make your stay unique. Located nearby all the hot spots of west Crete is ready to satisfy the most demanding guests.
The living area of Villa Veghera is 210 sq.m. and is divided into two floors. There are 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, 2 kitchens and 2 living rooms. Half of the rooms are located in the ground floor and the other half to the first floor. Both kitchens are fully equipped and both floors are having big balconies with breathtaking views. The first floor is accessible either by inside staircases or from a separate entrance outside the home.
There is a wi-fi network in the house with three additional repeaters as the whole area inside and outside to have strong signal. Every room has an air-condition, there is a central heating system and a fireplace in the main living room.
We offer linen, towels, pool towels, velour bathrobes and slippers. Light blankets and duvets are available as well.
If you travel with a baby we offer free of charge baby cot (with linen), high chair and baby bath tub.
GROUND FLOOR:
Living room with two big sofas, hi-fi stereo system, DVD player, Sony Smart TV , Satellite TV, Netflix and fireplace.
Dinning room with expandable table for up to 10 people.
Kitchen fully equipped with dish washer, fridge-freezer, oven, microwave, espresso machine, coffee machine, toaster, blender, sandwich toaster etc.
Two bedrooms with double beds.
Two bathrooms, one with shower and one with bath tube.
Utility room with washing machine, iron and iron board.
Balcony with wooden table, chairs and a big umbrella for extra shade.
FIRST FLOOR:
Living room with DVD player and Sony TV.
Kitchen fully equipped with fridge-freezer and oven.
One bedroom with double bed and one bedroom with two semi-double beds.
Two bathrooms.
Two balconies, one with bamboo saloon set and the other one with a big table, umbrella and 6 chairs.
GARDEN:
The garden around the villa is 1,000 sq.m. with;
Pool 45 sq.m., including a kids pool, 6 sunbeds and 2 umbrellas and 2 small tables.
Ping Pong table with all the equipment.
Pergola with a big sofa and extra space for sunbeds.
Bar with up to 10 stools and a barbecue.
Once you arrive we will be there to welcome you, show you the house and give you the keys!
At all times there is an office in the center of Kissamos town in order to reach us in person and help you with anything. If the office is closed you can reach me at any time in the contact details provided to you.
Once every three days for reservations up to 5 days we arrange a visit from us to the house to clean it, change the linen and towels and take care of the garden. We try to minimise the time cleaning the house but still the quality of cleaning is of paramount importance for us.
Any visit for cleaning will be scheduled after contacting you at times that are convenient for you.
The area of Kissamos offers to the guest anything they might need. Located less than 30 minutes from Chania it is close to the most amazing beaches of west Crete. Falasarna Beach is about 15 min drive, Elafonisi is about 40 min drive and boats getting you to Balos is just 5 min drive. Kissamos beach is just 2 km away.
Villa Veghera is located in the hill of Kounoupitsa just 1 km away from the main street of Kissamos offering you a quiet stay, amazing views and at the same time access to anything you might need.
If you rent a car there are two parking spots at the level of the garden/pool and even more space available by the street.
In case you choose public transport there is bus service with regular connection of Kissamos with Chania, Falasarna, Elafonisi and villages around Kissamos. The bus stop is 1 km away.

Villa Veghera was excellent and the host was helpfull and welcoming.The area was nice and quiet although some dogs made a lot ot noice now and then.

Das 2015 erbaute Haus liegt oberhalb von Kissamos an der staubigen Straße mit tollen Blick aufs Meer und die kleine Stadt. Die Anlage ist schön und für griechische Verhältnisse gepflegt. Das heißt: Es ist alles für den täglichen Bedarf an selbstverpflegung vorhanden, es ist sauber ( 2 mal pro Woche wird gereinigt) und die Besitzer sind sehr freundlich und bemüht. Ein paar Kleinigkeiten nerven allerdings, so ist keiner der WC Sitze halbwegs ordentlich befestigt daher rutscht man hin und her und einige Zimmertüren schließen nicht, das bedeutet sie stehen ständig auf. Aber wie gesagt Kleinigkeiten die für uns statt ein sehr gut nur gut in der Gesamtnote ergeben.

The property is very well presented and the owners are very hospitable and kind, providing us with a home cooked traditional Cretan meal on arrival and making themselves available for anything we may have needed throughout the stay. In addition, basic provisions were left for us including tea, coffee, water, bread and fresh fruit and vegetables from the owners garden. The house is well stocked with plenty of crockery, cutlery and kitchen equipment etc. Even cleaning products such as dishwasher tablets were provided Everything was very clean on arrival with an additional clean mid week.
The house is situated on a hillside about 10 minutes walk from the town of Kissamos, which has plenty of shops and tavernas/restaurants etc.
The owner left us a guide to help us with local attractions and places to eat which was really useful. We had some lovely meals in the local tavernas but our favourite place to eat was at the small fishermans harbor about 3 kilometers from the house.
One point to note is that if you would like to visit the beautiful beach at Balos, be prepared to a good long trek. The car park is usually full in tourist season which means you have to park way back on the roadside (very narrow in places) and then the walk to the beach (from the car park) is about 3 kilometers over very rocky, uneaven terrain - coming back up again is much worse than walking down. All in our party are fit and well but even we found it heavy going. If you have any mobility difficulties, my advice would be to take the ferry from Kissamos instead.
A lovely holiday and I would not hesitate in recommending this property.

We just returned from a one week vacation at Villa Veghera, and it could not have been more enjoyable. The owners made sure everything was taken care of. We arrived very late on our first day (1 AM), due to a delayed flight. However, the owners not only patiently waited for us, they also made sure the house was stocked with bottled water and provided a home cooked Greek dish, knowing that we would likely be hungry and exhausted from traveling all day, and that we wouldn't be able to buy groceries until morning.
The house is very large and beautifully decorated. It has a big outdoor area with an infinity pool and grill/bar area and countless balconies. We were a group of 8 and it never felt crammed. It is situated on a hill, a few minutes from the main stretch of town, in a somewhat secluded area (i.e. very quiet and wonderful views of the bay). And although there is an abandoned new home construction next door, the house felt very safe. It is gated, has shutters you can close, the outdoor areas are well lit (and timed) and it has a security system with surveillance cameras.
The owners are very responsive and went to great lengths to make sure our stay was as comfortable as possible. House and pool cleaning is done once a week, with fresh linens and towels provided. They also left us another home cooked Greek side dish, which was a very pleasant surprise and was promptly incorporated into our dinner plans for that evening (one of our favorite things to do was to grill by the pool, after coming back from the beach - Falassarna, Balos, Elafonisi, all within driving distance).
All in all, we very much enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this rental!
