Latrobe Mersey River Cabin and Caravan Park

Tiny house had a small kitchen, desk, chair and a couch. Location of the Caravan Park: next to a walking/cycling path to town.

We were a bit surprised to get a "tiny house" as a cabin. If you don't feel comfortable to climb up some narrow and steep stairs to the sleeping platform, don't book it.

The location is close to the river as well as the main street of La Trobe where there are lots of good shops and services for travellers. We stayed in a 3 room cabin overnight because of a dawn ferry departure and this was only 15 mins away from the ferry terminal. It had everything we needed, was very clean and suited our simple needs, but it was expensive, booked online at short notice. Honest reviews online helped with our expectations that this is convenient place to stay, not a holiday stay. The cabins sit very close together, which is not relaxing or peaceful. The caravan and trailer grassy area also seems very cramped, more of a short-stay location. The facility is used by lots of workers housed in simple donga-style shipping containers adjacent to the other cabins and this prevents any holiday vibe visitors might be hoping to find in this nice location.
