Mazurski Dom Sucholaski

A very pleasant place with extremely lovely hosts. The house is large and spacious, with several balconies. The kitchen was well-equipped, it even had a mixer. On the first floor, there is a large living room, a kitchen, and a small bedroom. On the second floor, there are three comfortable bedrooms. The children really enjoyed hanging out in the attic and playing in the garden. Particularly wonderful, however, was the small private beach with a sauna located a couple of hundred meters away, which the hosts were kind enough to heat up for us (for an extra fee). Since the weather was hot, we only used the sauna once, but we did take full advantage of the opportunity to swim at the private beach in the evenings. The village's public beach was also very nice for swimming, even though its infrastructure was a bit run-down. The village itself is lovely and quiet. An extra bonus was watching the bats flying overhead in the garden in the evenings.

It would be good to know that bath towels are not provided in the house. It is likely stated in the house description, but it didn't even occur to me to check. Fortunately, the kind hosts quickly found a solution, and luckily we had brought our own swim towels as well. A shower would have been nice, but we managed with the bathtub too.

Overall, we had a pleasant stay at Dom Sucholaski, and there were several things we really appreciated. The house had enough space for our group of nine, with plenty of beds. However, if your group is not made up of couples, keep in mind that the sleeping arrangement is four bedrooms and three single beds, which may not be ideal for everyone. The patio and barbecue area were great for spending time together, and we also enjoyed the beach access, boat dock, and sauna. One thing to note is that these amenities are located across the street from the house rather than directly on the property. The sauna also requires an additional fee. While the booking website mentioned an extra charge, it did not specify the amount. After speaking with the host, we understood the fee to be PLN 200 for the entire stay, but it was actually PLN 200 per day. The website should make this much clearer. The same applies to the additional fee for bringing a dog, which could also be explained in more detail. One aspect that surprised us was that the property is advertised as a single-family house, yet there is another house on the same property. There was also a German Shepherd roaming freely, which felt intimidating at times. Inside, the house appeared to be lived in rather than prepared exclusively as a vacation rental. We found old slippers and various personal items left in drawers, which gave the impression that the house had not been fully cleared out for guests. The neighboring property has cows, and as a result, there were an excessive number of flies inside the house. This made it difficult to keep windows open and was probably the biggest inconvenience during our stay. Overall, the property offers plenty of space for larger groups and has enjoyable outdoor amenities, but clearer information about additional fees and a few improvements to cleanliness and the guest experience would make future stays much better.
