The apartment was filthy, smelly and had BED BUGS - absolutely horrendous. Do not stay here!!!

We had been excited for our stay as the location of the property was so close to the beach and high street, and previous guests had (somehow!) left good reviews. The car park spot was convenient.

The whole building had a very unclean smell and was very run down. The apartment itself had a foul, unclean smell and was filthy throughout. We were hugely disappointed on arrival and unhappy setting up to stay in the apartment with our two children as it felt so unsanitary and had such a strong odour. The absolute worst part was that there were BED BUGS. We spotted them crawling over all three beds in the middle of the first night. We left after one night (we had paid for two nights) and had to pay to move to a different hotel to get away. It totally ruined our first couple of days of holiday. Even before spotting the bed bugs the property felt absolutely filthy, smelly and uncomfortable. It has not been well maintained at all. We couldn’t believe that previous guests had left positive reviews and we are now sceptical of whether they were genuine. We have contacted Poplidays several times regarding our awful experience but have had no response. This whole experience has put us off using Booking.com (and certainly never Poplidays) for future trips.
