About this villa rental
A timeless lake view Villa ~ ideal for summer entertaining!
Enjoying a splendid lake front location in a serene setting of Laglio, this authentic Italian villa provides budget-friendly sleeping accommodation for up to 12 guests, and is close to Como city!
The villa enjoys wonderful proportions and all the rooms boast high ceilings and bright and spacious, with WIFI internet access.
A traditional open plan living room enjoys access through French doors, to a sunny lake view terrace and the room is partially divided between living and dining with a centrally positioned open fireplace. The floor is laid with beautiful marble mosaic and the fireplace is a fabulous feature, ensuring a warm and romantic ambience is created to both the sitting area and the formal dining areas. A TV and music player are provided in the sitting room for guests’ entertainment.
From the spacious lake view terrace stone steps lead to the landscaped gardens where alfresco dining possibilities exist and for special occasions private chef hire can be arranged!
A separate kitchen features all the desired appliances including gas oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine, making it ideal for a self-catering holiday.
The ground floor futures a double bedroom with a service bathroom.
A quirky stylised staircase leads to the upper floors, which provide 5 double bedrooms and 2 single bedrooms. The single beds are attached to a double bedroom creating an open space.
Two modern bathrooms are also conveniently provided in the villa, with 2 fully fitted shower rooms, 2 separate WCs and a service bathroom.
All bedrooms enjoy beautiful parquet flooring, bright and spacious proportions and some even boast direct lake views and private balconies!
The splendid landscaped gardens enjoy a wide variety of trees and shrubs including rhododendrons and sweeping volumes of scented jasmine. A sunny lake view lawn provides a fantastic spot by the lakeside, alfresco dining or simply for sunbathing.
Guests will need to park on the street level and walk 30 metres down a steep, stepped cobbled walkway to the entrance of the villa. - Please note because of this, the villa is not suitable for infants, young children or the elderly -
A peaceful wide stone pathway leads behind the villa to the delights of Laglio.
Laglio is a charming and highly romantic fishing village, with a quaint harbour, ancient churches and stately noble villas and pastel townhouses which all provide a timeless and elegant appeal. A very good restaurant is situated in the town and amenities include a bank, grocery shop and regular bus service.
Laglio has also become famous from its celebrity residents which have included George Clooney and Brad Pitt, and this Hollywood celebrity status which contrasts so well with its charming, pretty and ancient lakeshore has only enhanced its allure for visitors on Lake Como.
Nearby the fashionable town of Cernobbio features boutique shops, antique shops and galleries as well as a fabulous family-friendly lakefront promenade with cafes, bars and ice cream shops. The world famous Vista D’Este Hotel and Golf Club, the annual events of Villa Erba and the highly acclaimed ‘Gatto Nero’ restaurant also make the town a desirable destination for visitors.
Como city is ideally situated just a 15 minutes’ drive from Laglio, providing an abundance of amenities and attractions including supermarkets, cafe-lined piazzas, boutique shopping boulevards, a wide variety of restaurants, the wonderful Duomo, the Volta Museum and the magnificent Villa Olmo.
Como city also enjoys a Lido, harbour with boat mooring facilities and a fast and frequent ferry service which services the northern Lake Como resort towns.
