A good, filling and balanced breakfast was provided. On days when I needed breakfast earlier, I communicated this to the host, and they kindly made the necessary arrangements. The property is clean and located in a safe, quiet neighbourhood. This was my first time staying in a shared homestay, and the experience felt a little like sleeping over at a relative's house; you feel welcomed and cared for, although you may not have the same freedom or comfort you would enjoy in a fully private space.

The main area for improvement is communication. -I paid for my stay upon arrival using the payment details provided by the caretaker. However, during checkout, the host still asked about payment, as she appeared unaware that I had already paid. -There was also a misunderstanding regarding drinking water. I requested water during my stay and it was provided/accessible each day, but I was only informed at checkout that the bottles were chargeable. This should have been clearly communicated before or when the water was provided. -On my second day, I was locked outside the gate for approximately one hour because no one was available on the premises to let me in. The host was apologetic and explained that the caretaker had needed to leave because of an emergency. Nevertheless, guests should ideally have a reliable way to access the property independently. -Although the premises were clean, basic amenities could also be checked and replenished proactively. -Overall, with clearer and more proactive communication, this could be an excellent place to stay; particularly for guests who are comfortable with the shared-space homestay experience.

We didn't know that breakfast wasn't included when we booked the whole house. After all, this didn't matter.

It’s a shared space. That should be in the description that you only get the bedroom and share the lounge and dining area. Limited privacy.
