No 6 Hambrough House - Private Balcony and Sea View

A beautifully appointed flat. It was spacious, clean and stylishly decorated. It was situated in a quiet location but only a short walk to the local amenieties. The beds were really comfy and there was everything that we needed for our stay. There was a bottle of wine waiting for us in the fridge when we arrived. It was very much appreciated. It was warm during our visit and so we were very grateful for the provision of the fans. The location was excellent, just a short walk to the sea front in one direction and the main town in the other. Good restaurants locally and the buses run regularly to Shanklin and other villages. We followed a Treasure Trail walk which took us via Steephill Cove beach to the Botanical Gardens and back. Highly recommended.

The instructions for collecting the key were confusing and we struggled to find the correct lock box. However, the owner was on hand via phone and was able to sort us out really quickly. The only real downside to the flat was the car parking space. Although my car fitted into the space, the proximity of other parked cars on the road and next to it, meant there was very, very little room for manoeuvre. It took 20 minutes and 3 people for us to be able to leave! I would suggest suitable for small cars only. However, we did find that if you travelled around the bend past the flat, there would be usually parking spaces available on the road.

Location, size, comfort

Welcome pack needs updating for parking and WiFi. We had to reset the boiler every morning for hot water.

Great location with a sea view on a quiet street close to the town and beach, a big plus is this property has its own parking space, (finding a free parking spot in Ventnor is a bit of a lottery) Ventnor is a lovely town with plenty of quality places to eat, drink, shop and explore (it also has the best ice cream on the island).

No negatives, we really enjoyed our stay.
