The building location and staff Character of building cool

The breakfasts/bar were a little disappointing ,staff worked very hard but too few like a one man band dashing around to fulfil lots of roles I did not realise before arriving that there was a mini kitchen in the room which is great but needs to be advertised more plus to bring speedos!

Lectoure is a commune in the Gers department in the Occitanie region in southwest France. College de Doctrinaire a 17th century Baroque building formerly a religious educational institution now functioning as a unique hotel and spa, situated on the famous St. James pilgrimage route. Historically religious orders provided education or spiritual lodging, evolving from a scholarly or religious institution into a welcoming stop for pilgrims seeking rest, offering historical charm with modern amenities synonymous and renown with art, history and wellness. The ancient city of Lactora developed due to the cohort of pilgrims later the Christians took these Roman roads in particularly that of Le Puy. This medieval city became an important stage on the Ways of Saint-Jacques-de-Compostelle. Approaching the majestic historic building was stupendous with a warm welcome from the concierge felt special. The executive suite Room 008 opening onto the terrace/patio within the private courtyard with fountain promoted capaciousness and tranquility. Partaking of Petit Déjeuner and dinner perfect for al fresco dining.

The Bar - the two females (receptionist/waitress) between them could not serve a simple G&T or a small beer. Neither had a clue about the type of products on offer in the bar or how to serve them. The Kitchenette - crockery/cooking utensils were inadequate to prepare a simple repast - deficient cleaning products/materials to clean down after cooking operation - H&S and Hygiene issues.

The staff were very accommodating and helpful with our inquiries and always greeting us with a smile. Thank them all. We enjoyed the spa and especially having free access to it.

The breakfast was poor in quality

Lovely hotel set in a very quiet french town. Continental breakfast was very good. Bed very comfy.

The area is very quiet in the evening & trying to find somewhere to have a meal as a group was difficult without booking the evening before. Room service meal at the hotel was poor. You could not smell food cooking so clearly microwaved meals. Soup arrived luke warm & main meal about the same,for the price not the quality i would expect
