Great location but a few issues

The hotel is right in the middle of town so extremely convenient. Breakfast is lovely and the owner engaging and delightful.

We arrived during their published opening hours and after advising that we would be late due to a delayed flight to find the hotel closed. The hotel phone number went to voicemail. Luckily booking.com were able to contact the owner. who returned but we were standing outside in the dark for half an hour with our luggage.

Valbonne is so beautiful…and our stay with Demeure d’hotes Le Rocher is unforgettable. So much taste, so much love to detail. And the couple looking after us even forgave us coming late for breakfast - and provided gluten-free bread. We had to get used to the warmer climate and the a\c helped enormously ….we regret not having stayed at their own little restaurant because the others are very loud and busy….and above all, we regret to have stayed only one night.

You have to find parking outside the little village-centre. Someone will help you kindly with your luggage up the stairs….

Room for improvement

The hotel is very nice. Located in the centre of small village of Valbonne, it is small and charming. Personnel is friendly and welcoming. The bed linen, towels and the room itself are extremely clean. Bed and pillows are comfortable and the AC helps a lot when it is hot outside.

The breakfast is too basic, for the price you pay for this accommodation something better than 2 small fruits, 1 small croissant and a slice of baguette with butter and jam should be arranged. Portions are small and limited, no cheese, no vegetables, no fruits (apart from 2 small apricots). Probably best not to include breakfast at all than this..no kettle in the room, and if you want tea during the day, please prepare to pay 7-8 euro per cup. Nobody asked me even once if I want the room to be cleaned, let alone all rubbish (toilet paper, cotton pads, empty plastic bottles, etc) remained in the room till the end as no cleaner bothered to came even once. The room was designed in a rather odd way when you have toilet on one side of the room and a shower on the other.

Beautiful place but disappointing breakfast

The unexpected beauty of the building on a bohemian street, the owner that expected us until 11.30 pm

Breakfast choices extremely limited. Just an croissant, jam and butter and some coffee. No cheese, no ham, no vegetables, no eggs, no cereals, milk. Anything.

location was excellent , the chap running it was very pleasant and provided a nice continental breakfast, but only pastries , bread with butter and jam, no meats or cheeses. The bed and bedding were good quality .

the rooms were above a restaurant, so there is nowhere apart from your room to chill. No bar or lounge. I stayed on a Friday night, and as there is a Saturday market in Valbonne (which is very good and worth going to), the setting up noise did wake me up at around 7am. I had to say what time I wanted breakfast the night before , so not very flexible.

Lovely hotel in the valley.

The whole venue was beautiful and well looked after. The room was a great size and very clean and comfortable, and the host, Muhamed, was fantastic. Super friendly and kind, he made sure I was looked after. The location was great, on a beautiful street, just a 30 second walk from the main square in Valbonne.

Nothing to fault. Really enjoyed my stay. Would definitely be back.

Perfect for a short stay in picturesque Valbonne. Would come again.

Spotlessly clean and pretty room in a quiet pedestrian street less than 1 minute from Valbonne main square. We booked the larger top floor room which was spacious and although being on the roof had lounge area and was air conditioned. Our host was welcoming and although we arrived early he gave us the code to access the hotel so we could store luggage. lovely continental breakfast served outside.

All excellent although a check in time of 5pm is somewhat late compared to most.

Very happy with our stay in Valbonne

What a great hotel right in the middle of the beautiful town of Valbonne. The room was really pretty and clean and the breakfast was absolutely fabulous. The staff and owner are very welcoming and helpful. There is free overnight parking in a public lot nearby. Highly recommend.

Five Star charm and modern convenience in an historic French village.

The hotel owner/manager and his staff were at all times gracious and understanding and went out of their way to make our stay exceptional, from their help in arranging transportation, to their service of the delicious included breakfast of pastries, fruit and large, never empty, coffee cups. The place is just beautiful and well maintained. Bathrooms are modern and luxurious. There is even central air. Be aware that there are some narrow stairways to negotiate for room access.

To be honest, nothing could have been better. The hotel has all the charm of the village of Valbonne with its narrow streets, wonderful restaurants and shops, and amazing village square where so many congregate to socialize, drink and eat almost all day and into the night.

Best place to stay in Valbonne, without doubt. We booked tabel d'hote at arrival date for convenience. The food was so good (!), that we immediately booked a table for another night as well. Great hosts.

Enjoyable stay!

Quaint, boutique hotel in centre of Valbonne. The owner upgraded us to the workshop loft which was simple and nicely decorated. Had dinner downstairs as well, open small kitchen which was cool you feel like your in a home. Enjoyable stay!

We had dinner, the food was good but be prepared its on the pricey side, with a very limited menu, so if you like many options this may be problematic.

Great stay in Valbonne village (which is so quaint and full of charm). The owners were fantastic hosts. Lovely room. Loved having breakfast on the cobble stones outside. Charming.

The AC periodically went on and off, but that was soon sorted.
