About this house rental

A traditional Welsh cottage, Bluebell Cottage is situated in a quiet village in South Pembrokeshire and is within walking distance of the popular sandy beach at West Angle Bay.

It is the perfect place to relax and unwind, and a great base from which to explore the Pembrokeshire Coast Path. With numerous stunning sandy beaches nearby, historic castles in abundance and a variety of family attractions locally there is something for everyone all year round.

An ideal holiday home for families, small groups of friends and couples alike, the cottage sleeps up to 7 (best-suited to max 6 adults). It is well-equipped for children and we welcome one well-behaved dog (a second dog may be permissible on request.)

The living room features a log burning stove, Smart TV, DVD player and free Wifi. The modern kitchen has all the amenities you would expect and there is a utility area suitable for drying walking boots and wet weather gear. The bathroom is on the ground floor and includes a bath as well as a separate shower cubicle and WC.

There is one spacious double bedroom on the ground floor while the original Victorian staircase leads to the light and airy bedrooms on the first floor with their lovely wooden floorboards. Upstairs there is one large double bedroom, one twin room and one single room. 200-400 thread count 100% cotton bed linen is provided as well as a 100% cotton bath sheet for each guest. Please bring beach towels with you.

The enclosed rear lawned garden with a paved patio, mature shrubs and fruit trees is a lovely spot in which to enjoy an alfresco meal on a summer's evening. A BBQ will be available for guests to use during the summer months (please provide your own charcoal). And in the Winter guests can cosy up with a book or board game from our collection in front of the wood burning stove in the living room (a starter basket of logs is provided).

We are well-equipped for children, with a high chair, travel cot (please bring your own cot sheets) and a stair gate at the top of the stairs. The garden is gated but we ask that children are supervised in the garden at all times.

The cottage is very quiet and private. Parking is on-street, outside the front of the property.

There is a great local pub just 100m from the cottage, The Hibernia Inn, serving hearty food and a good selection of drinks. Wavecrest Cafe at West Angle Bay serves great lunches, coffee, cake, drinks and ice cream from mid-Feb until October and the award-winning Cafe Mor is now situated at The Old Point House at East Angle Bay, just a 10 minute scenic walk from the cottage. We also highly recommend The Stackpole Inn, 20 minutes drive from the cottage.

The sandy beach at West Angle Bay is popular with families and is just a 10 minute walk from the cottage or a 2 minute drive, and the Pembrokeshire Coast Path offers wonderful walks and stunning views. The Chapel Bay Fort Museum is open from Easter and is a 15 minute walk from the cottage.

There are a number of other beautiful beaches to choose from nearby, including Barafundle, Broadhaven South, Freshwater East and Freshwater West (famous for its surf). A visit to Broad Haven South beach taking in the walk round the lily ponds at Bosherton should not be missed, likewise the headland walk to Barafundle Bay - one of our favourite spots.

The coastal town of Tenby is a 25 minute drive from the cottage and there are numerous local attractions, including Bluestone, Oakwood, Folly Farm, Manor Wildlife Park, Carew Castle, Pembroke Castle and Manorbier Castle.

Sadly there is no longer a village shop, therefore we recommend you bring some supplies with you as the nearest shop is 15 minutes away. Tesco and Asda will deliver to the cottage (please ask us for detailed directions to provide to delivery driver), otherwise there is a small Co-op in Pembroke and larger supermarkets in Pembroke Dock. We are unable to provide any supplies for you.

Please note that whilst the cottage can sleep 7 it is most comfortable with a maximum of 6 adults or a combination of adults and children, up to 7 people. It's great for inviting the grandparents for a few days with you or having the extra single bedroom allows a bit more flexibility with your sleeping arrangements.

PLEASE NOTE THAT DURING PEAK MONTHS WE OPERATE A 1 WEEK MINIMUM STAY POLICY WITH CHANGEOVER ON A SATURDAY. AT OTHER TIMES THE MINIMUM STAY IS 2 NIGHTS AND CHANGEOVER DAYS CAN BE FLEXIBLE.

DOGS
1 well-behaved dog will be allowed at the cottage on condition of the following:
- dogs must not be left alone in the property
- dogs must be kept under control at all times
- guests will bring bedding/baskets and food bowls for their dogs
- dogs are not permitted upstairs, in bedrooms or on furniture
- the garden is enclosed but should not be considered dog-proof
- dogs must be kept up to date with flea and worming treatments
- guests accept total responsibility for their dog and their actions, including clearing up all mess in the garden and being financially responsible for any damage caused

A comfortable cottage with good-sized rooms and a lovely garden. 15 mins walk from a great beach and a short drive from outstanding beaches like Freshwater.

Just returned for a fabulous 2 weeks in Bluebell Cottage. The cottage is beautiful, full of character. We were really blessed with the weather so were able to take full advantage of the garden. The area is so peaceful, the local people so friendly. The pub is just down the road and very welcoming. The food served is pub grub, for a more special dining experience we went a few times to the ‘the old point’ which is about a 10min walk. Cooked in most days and the kitchen was well equipped. The beach is a 10min walk and is beautiful, the cafe at the beach does a fabulous lunch and cakes. The Coastal walk from the beach to the old point is gorgeous. Communication with Jo faultless. Plenty of parking outside. Was sad to leave, would return in a heartbeat.

We have just had a lovely four day stay at the cottage. It’s a really special place - the cottage itself is faultless, the location was perfect, our absolutely favourite things were the many beaches we discovered and explored. Our dog Gus was definitely living his best life! Jo was great to deal and the whole process was great.

This is a great place to stay. There is plenty of space and the facilities make life easy. We loved the area and made good use of the garden and the kitchen. The place was spotless and the huge roll top bath felt like a luxury at the end of each day. We could not fathom the dvd player but everything else worked perfectly. We took our labradoodle and the cool granite floors were perfect for him as were the beach and local coastal walks. Both local pubs were friendly and the dog was welcomed with open arms. We had a thoroughly lovely and relaxed holiday - thank you. Penny, Andy and Ziggy.

We loved our stay at Bluebell cottage in early April (and still quite chilly) - the house is lovely and well-suited for smaller children (stair gate, baby chair, games etc), easy to heat, and the garden was a total hit for sunny afternoons. Super well organised too with instructions on everything you might possibly need, maps for walks in the area etc. I was initially a bit taken aback when we drove past the oil refinery on our way (it’s quite close to Angle) because I wasn‘t aware of its presence but it’s only really present when heading for East Angle bay. West angle bay is gorgeous and lovely for kids, as it the nearby Freshwater bay. perfect stay overall, we‘d come back in a heartbeat!
