The Peacock House

Location was perfect for our needs, quiet but easily accessible to freeways. The garage was useful for us. The kitchen was very well stocked— much better than most short-term rentals we have stayed at.

Two of the beds were not very comfortable for us — mattresses were too soft and the one in en suite bedroom was lumpy. One of the beds squeaked loudly with minor body movements overnight. We liked the neighborhood peacocks but they could be wuite loud overnight and disturbed some of our sleepers. With newer mattresses we’d rate it a 9 or 10.

Very spacious for a family of 7 and peacocks were beautiful.

The property was easily accessible for my aging parents. The peacocks were an added bonus for everyone especially my teenage son!!

The location was centrally located and easy to access for 410 and I10. Many restaurants close by.

The home was perfect for all of us. The hard thing was the birds sounded like a cat fight. We wondered where the cats were. Then realized it was the Peacocks. We did not know that there would be peacocks all around the home. The home inside was beautiful with all the peacock décor. It was beautiful! The peacocks were a sight to see. But were glad their caws did not last 24-7. We looked on line and learned more about them and were able to tolerate them and enjoy their beauty. The rest of our stay was perfect and it was one of the best places to stay at that we experienced. Our adopted family from Taiwan was their first visit in America and they loved their stay. We also enjoyed the movie theater only minutes away and only 30 minutes away from the Alamo and other historic and fun places to see. Six flags Fiesta was only 20 minutes away, Natural Bridge Caverns were a bit of a drive but not too bad. The Train Hobby store was close and we enjoyed that also. It did not take much time to get where we wanted too. When we came to San Antonio, we went to Dwyer Rd and that was near La Casada by Wyndham and parked at the corner parking for 15.00 for the whole day. We then took a river tour and walked the river walk, walked to the Alamo and many other famous hotels and the Buckhorn Museum and handcrafted sailing ship in the window. From there it did not take us long to get to the Peacock house. The Walmart was also very close.

Our movies would get the circle thing and the WIFI did not come in as we thought. It was at a 9 band with on my husbands computer that showed the WIFI strength. It took a long time to get that figured out when we were tired from a long day and wanted to unwind watching a movie. The Wi-Fi strength was still not as good after we got in touch with the owner but we just had to be patient with the slow band with.

The peacocks were amazing. My family was expecting the decor and like maybe a few actual birds but there was a whole flock and even my baby would wait by the door and windows and look out. We even sat on the front porch and watched them walk the street. Highly advise not to stand under the tree. They fly up there and just an easy look at the sidewalk will tell you what will happen if you stand under the tree.

The bed in the master bed room is good. The one by the back door leans but its due to the floor. The one in the other bedroom has a huge indention in the middle where both people roll towards each other to the center of the bed. However these were things that my family could deal with that wouldn't ruin our stay. The only other thing I was kind of disappointed that there wasn't any information on why there are peacocks there. You could tell the people that live in the area are familiar with them but as a visitor I am curious on the story behind the peacocks.

The Host went above and beyond to help with everything. Was so nice and polite, when i had a question or a concern I would let her know and it was taken care of immediately. The house was in the best location and close to everything we needed to do . A huge Thank you to the host she was like a said on top of everything and outstanding will book again for all my travels to the San Antonio area . I Can not thank you enough for the best stay thank you so much once more

There is nothing I Can say that I did not like , I LIKED everything the place had to offer and more. The House felt so much like Home wished I could have stayed longer.

The shower in the hallway drain needs to be cleaned out other than that the stay was awesome.
