Relax your body and soothe your soul tucked in this country setting, minutes from Deep Creek Lake & WISP Ski Resort. Listen to the Hoot owl calling to you at night in the expansive forest surrounding this chalet. Rare will be the day you would NOT see deer, turkey, wild rabbits or other wildlife - they also enjoy the forested privacy surrounding this prestigious vacation home.
An easy 10-15 minute drive and you are in downtown Oakland, Historic Swanton, or 1 of 3 State Forests (Potomac, Garrett, and Savage River State Forests) with an abundance of hiking & biking trails, spring-fed streams & rivers, and pristine forest. For the adventurer wishing to explore the caves, cliffs, or raft the rivers and fish the lakes, you will love the central location.
3 steps gets you from your car to the covered porch with seating. Entering your chalet the great room immediately offers a wood-burning fireplace with comfortable seating for evening relaxing. The kitchen overlooks the great room and the large dining table. Intelligently designed house offers oversized glass sliding doors seemingly bringing the surrounding forest inside for you to enjoy.
The 3 level chalet offers a full bath on each level, full laundry for your convenience, and 2 separate living and gathering areas. Relax in the main level living area offering a vaulted ceiling. Chat and share memories with each other while listening to the crackling fireplace and the solitude of the surrounding forest.
Downstairs the walk-out basement offers a fooseball table, card table & chairs & large flat-screen TV mounted over the gas fireplace. Just out the back door you can soak the bones in the hot bubbly Jacuzzi in total privacy!
The main level offers a bedroom with Queen bed & TV while upstairs are found 2 more oversized bedrooms: One bedroom offers 2 twin beds and the other bedroom offers a full and twin. The lower level offers a Queen bedroom and a 5th bedroom also with a Queen. Additionally their is an air mattress available for guest overflow as needed.
Abundance of board games can be found along with plenty of books to peruse. We are lucky that we are able to offer high speed wireless internet in such a rural location but you can find it here! The wrap around deck is sure to host many evenings of fun family time!

Beautiful wooded location, private and quiet with anything you could think of needing. Hot tub, firepit, grill, games galore, cozy fireplace, wrap-around deck, and a trail to the lake.

Our small group of friends had a wonderful time. We made a Christmas dinner and found nearly every utensil and appliance needed. The views were great, and we loved the privacy. Plenty of sleeping surfaces, and everything nice and clean. Will stay again!

Wonderfully private location, Had a great weekend with family!! Property was clean and well maintained, and just a short drive to the heart of downtown DeepCreek. 2 small issues.. Sliding glass door on bottom level was impossibly hard to pull open or closed and some broken chairs around firepit, but we all brought camp chairs with us though, so it was a non issue.. Would definately return! The property manager was so nice to deal with, we had many questions and they were answered promptly.

This was the message I sent to the owners to communicate some of the areas we thought should be addressed. For the price, it definitely wasn’t up to par. My message went unanswered...
Hello!
We just checked out this morning and wanted to touch base on the property. I know you said you have a company handling the rental for you, so I wanted to reach out directly instead of leaving a review.
We loved the privacy of your place and the amount of space it provided; however, we were disappointed in a few things and thought some others needed brought to your attention.
First, I think it should be clear that there is no air conditioning in the unit. That was quite surprising to find when we arrived. I think most people would make that assumption, and it’s not clear in the listing that it’s not available.
We were disappointed with the condition of some things, too. I’m not sure if it’s something the rental company should be handling for you, so wanted to mention. (I have photos if you’d like.) The decks could use some love. There were cobwebs all over the light fixtures and leaves piles everywhere. It doesn’t look like it’s been swept in awhile. The small storage cubby is just piled with leaves. There’s a molded cooler left on the deck that has beer inside dated 4 years ago! And under the decks, when you walk the property, there are chairs thrown, broken screens, etc. It doesn’t highlight the positives the house has going.
Inside, there’s a slow drip at the kitchen sink, there was a toilet paper holder missing from the wall of the upstairs bathroom (and the drywall dust is still sitting all over the baseboards- not really making us feel like the house is being cleaned well!), many large ants in the kitchen and bathrooms, tape on walls, cobwebs on light fixtures, etc.
We’re really not fussy people and travel often. We were still able to enjoy the area as a family, but I was definitely disappointed in the condition of the things mentioned. We work hard to take trips and this one fell short a bit.
Thought it was worth mentioning and you’d like to know.
