About this house rental
Our house is a modern 2 story cedar house with fabulous views of Lake Hawea and the surrounding mountains. This is an ideal spot for all summer and winter outdoor activities and perfect for families and groups. We are 12 minutes drive to Wanaka. For skiers it is 30 minutes to the foot of the Cardrona ski-field and about the same to the Treble Cone Skifield Road.
The house has 2 heat pumps, a wood burner with a supply of wood, and a couple of extra portable heaters for winter though is double glazed and easily heated. There is room for at least 3 vehicles and a boat inside our gates.
Hawea has the newly renovated Hotel with bar / pub and a great al a carte restaurant. The shop, 150 metres away, sells wine and beer, and groceries. There is also second Restaurant above it and takeaway store attached.
It's a 3 minute walk to the lakefront with its reserve and 7 km of walks along paths and the beach to John's Creek. No houses are built on the beachfront at all! Blissfully peaceful with superb mountain scenery all round.
The garden is fully fenced so is toddler friendly. Wanaka has plenty of shops, two supermarkets and lots of other entertainment.
The showers are hot, powerful and virtually instant, ideal after an active day and then a seat in the upstairs lounge or on the balcony watching the sunset over the mountains with a local Pinot Noir in hand is just wonderful, for some it borders on obligatory.
We hope you will come and explore this idyllic spot and enjoy it as we do. The house is fantastic value, many guests have said.

This was a very large house with amazing views and a two minute walk to shop and pub. This was our favourite place to stay on our trip. Communication with the owner was really easy and quick. Loved our stay here.

Gorgeous views from the upstairs (both inside and out). Very modern house with plenty of room for our family in a great spot. Cosy fireplace and receptive host.
Lake Hawea is a stunning place to stay.

What a wonderful home to stay in!! We stayed a week and there was plenty of space for us, with 5 bedrooms there was an extra room!! House was clean and stocked with clean towels and some essentials like tin foil, rubbish bags, dish washing liquid etc. only recommendation I would make is to place a fan in the master bedroom, we didn’t want to use air con, so it would have been nice to have a little more airflow on the hot nights of summer. Great experience overall!!!

This property served our two families well over a week-long stay. Close to the lake, supermarket, eatery, playground and walks. Easy parking, spacious lawn/deck, kitchen well-equipped. Loved the balcony on top & great water pressure in shower.
