Good hotel closer to nature and main streets

The staff was extremely friendly! I loved the breakfast being served at your balcony, and at the time you chose. The hotel is really peaceful, close to nature, but also in a walking distance to the main streets where you can find lots of restaurants, services and touristic attractions. The pool is beautiful and the facilities of the hotel are very simple, which is not an issue if you won't spend much time in the hotel.

There were lots of insects in my room right when I checked in, including ants on the bed. It was the rainy season and the hotel is very close to nature, so you can expect that can of thing, but ants on the bed felt a bit too much for me and lack of cleaniness. I reported it to the staff and they immediately cleaned the room all over again, which solved the problem. They lent me insect spray and kept checking on me. I was happy the problem was solved without any issue.

A very private and comfortable accommodation in a pretty good location

Very comfortable bed, lovely balcony with a day bed, daily water supplied. The staff were lovely & very helpful. The location was overall pretty good. Only 4 rooms & breakfast was served on your balcony, no breakfast room. A good place if you want somewhere private. We never saw any other guests during the 4 nights were there.

The shower was in a bath which could be a bit slippery for older people. The pool was lovely but the stones around the pool made it a bit awkward to get in & out if you have any mobility issues. A few stairs around the property & a bit of a sleep incline road to get to & from the property. The coffee with breakfast was terrible.

Fantastic stay in a very quiet alley in center Ubud.

Fantastic stay at Gek House. Everything was perfect. The hotel is in a very quiet alley yet very well located. The staff was wonderful. The room is perfectly clean and breakfast is served on the balcony every day. We loved it and just wanted to stay longer!

Excellent value for money

There are only 4 rooms which we booked for our family so it was like having our own villa. The family were lovely and made our stay very comfortable. The beds were comfortable, the breakfasts were delicious and I would highly recommend you stay here

It is a little way from all the main attractions but that is what makes it great to go back to after a busy day!

We spent wonderfully peaceful 6 nights in this small guesthouse tucked away from the main road. Easy 10-15 minute stroll to the heart of busy Ubud. Super clean, kind host, beautiful “jungle” outlook, quiet, great value! Several eateries and shops nearby. Will definitely come back next time in Ubud.

A peaceful retreat with friendly staff, comfy beds, and great value for money.

We absolutely love coming back to this property! 🥰 The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly, and the rooms are always spotless and peaceful , you’d never guess you’re so close to the centre. The beds are super comfortable, and the view of the forest is simply beautiful and relaxing. The pool is lovely as well, perfect for unwinding. Breakfast is delicious, and the whole stay offers amazing value for money. Highly recommended! 🌿✨

Everything was perfect. Wayan and his team are amazing, they do everything to make your stay wonderful. This is the best place I have ever stayed in. The room was so clean and cozy, the breakfast very delicious, and the whole place just amazing. If I could I would give 100 stars. I will definetely come back!

Clean, good breakfast, beautiful rooms with jungle and pool view! The stuff are so kind, cleaning the rooms daily. Location is Perfect, with scooter you are few minutes from every center location. Excellent, friendly central B &B in the middle of nature

The room was excellent value for money. Comfy bed, spacious room, lovely balcony that looked onto the forest with all nice nature sounds! The breakfast was also delicious - the best banana pancakes I had during my time in Bali and nice fresh fruit. It’s central so great for seeing everything in the centre of Ubud. The staff were also helpful and helped with my case

Nothing although one minor thing is to be careful with the shower water, as if it goes on the side of the bath, it flows and lands on the floor, if you don’t put a towel there to block it.

1. The staff is amazing. Very nice and attentive! They make you feel welcome and help you out with whatever you need. Great job! 2. Location is great: only a 15’ walk to the water temple (although we didn’t visit it), but away from all the noise and hustle of Ubud. 3. Great breakfast. It is the typical option that you can get around anywhere in Bali (eggs). Very well cooked and served with fresh fruit and juice. It’s also nice that it’s served in your own room with the calm views of the swimming pool and jungle. We only stayed a night and found this place by chance, but it has definitely been a highlight during our trip. Thank you for hosting us!

Just wonderful! Highly recommended stay in Ubud.

The room was really cosy and clean. The little balcony provided a great spot to sit down, relax and listen to the sounds of nature. Also a fantastic spot to have breakfast, which was brought to our room at our chosen time of convenience. Bathroom was very clean and provided everyhting you need or can think of. Not to forget the wonderful, kind and helpful staff, who provided excellent service. We had a great time at Gek House, for which we are thankful!

Beautiful quiet retreat in an ideal location!

Wayan and his staff were very kind, humble and helpful. They brought us delicious breakfast every morning right at the time we requested. Having breakfast on the terrace looking at the lush grounds was just perfect. There are only four rooms, and we had two next to each other, so we never really saw other guests. It felt like we had the whole villa to ourselves! There's a tiny shop selling snacks across the alley if you don't want to walk to the main road. It's a short walk to all the restaurants, shops and spas (one-hour deep tissue massage nearby was only 75k IDR which was less than $5US)! The restaurants were good too.

Absolutely fabulous place with such a helpful owner and wonderful staff. So quiet, excellent facilities - I can’t rate it highly enough. Rooms look out onto a green landscape which is so restful.

Gorgeous, clean and beautiful gardens. Everything you need

Spotlessly cleaned at check in and daily. Breakfast was delicious and delivered to room balcony. Bed comfy, gorgeous surrounds from balcony. Well equipped room. Friendly check in and the host was only a whatsapp away. Only a short walk to main street. We used the transport service to Sanur. Excellent.

For its price, a beautiful beautiful place! But are you ready to not get enough sleep?)

+ very much! The friendly man who works there. Insanely smiling and pleasant. +a good simple but delicious breakfast, beautifully served to you right on the balcony by the time you request. To choose from: traditional dishes of rice and noodles, eggs in various forms, banana pancakes. We managed to try everything) But I liked the banana pancakes the most. +clean, tidy +there are towels for the pool +there is a dental kit +very nice view of the jungle from the room +excellent value for money +the pool is small but beautiful +we took into account our honeymoon and carefully decorated the bed with flowers! Thanks a lot +good location almost in the center, we reached the monkey forest in 25 minutes, near the laundry, where we had our clothes washed, dried and delivered directly to the hotel in 3 hours, there are many cafes nearby

- we threw towels on the floor, and instead of bringing fresh ones, we hung these dirty wet towels from the floor to dry on the balcony ((( this is a nightmare! When we asked for a change, of course, we changed it right away, but we were very surprised that we needed fresh towels every day. So be careful! Your "fresh" towels may be dried old ones. - the air conditioner is very noisy, it's difficult to sleep with it on, but it's hot without it. -the main disadvantage of this place is the endless noise of birds, there are roosters in the neighborhood who start screaming from 00.00 at night until 9 a.m. - every 1.5 hours) No kidding! They're yelling like they're in your room) We slept in earplugs, but they didn't help much either. -there are a lot of ants in the bathroom and on the balcony -tired yellow plumbing (toilet, bathtub)

Wonderful stay in a real hidden gem

My friend and I visited Gek House in Ubud because we wanted a stay that was removed from the hustle and bustle of the town but in easy walking distance as we don't rent scooters. Gek House didn't disappoint! Perfect location, just two minutes from the cool shops but completely quiet with a backdrop of beautiful jungle. The room was clean and spacious. The pool was absolutely beautiful and even had a small gym set up beside it. The breakfast was totally delicious - all the more so for the fantastic setting! The hotel organized our airport transfer that went seamlessly and our driver was so great he also became our tour guide the following day. The staff were so wonderful, so friendly and accommodating. This is one of the best places we have stayed and a real gem.

Amazing stay!

The property was well maintained, pool was very clean and chilled vibes. The room was exceptional for the price! So clean and the bed was insanely comfortable! Wayan and his staff were so happy and eager to help at anytime. Breakfast was complimentary with room service and a great touch, the pancakes were so tasty! I would 1000% recommend if you want to be in the centre of Ubud but also surrounded by jungle, I would definitely stay here again.

I am vegan that's why I could only eat fruits. They served also fried rice with veggies but I was ok with only fruits. Owners and the staff was so friendly and helpfull. I felt so secure and comfy. Close to the street. they have only 4 rooms thats why so quite .

My first room was a little dark and wanted move to other one . 2nd room was okay. I would be glad if they would use day light color in the small lamps next to the bed.

Fantastic in Ubud.

Loved our three nights at Gek House. A four room guesthouse off the busy streets of Ubud. New and extremely clean and well cared for property. The owners are lovely and will be able to help with day trips and onward travel. Breakfast was great and setting fantastic on your own terrace with view of pool and large trees. The pool is lovely and refreshing - no sun so don’t expect to be sunbathing. Gek House is a 10 minute walk to the centre of Ubud in a nice quiet neighbourhood with lots of great eateries on the doorstep. Thank you for a wonderful stay - we can highly recommend Gek House to other travellers.
