The Palm Cottages, a Vieques vacation rental on the North Shore of Vieques Island, comprises a residential compound that was formerly a church, its rectory, and several small out buildings.
Located in the heart of the lovely Vieques Garden District in the Bravos de Boston neighborhood, the cottages are surrounded by exceptional and mature tropical gardens designed and maintained by the well-known Bravos Boyz, whose offices are also located in the former sanctuary.
This Vieques vacation rental compound includes two cottages, the Palm Cottage and the Pool Cottage, which share a beautifully landscaped, private pool with a dramatic fountain. The Palm Cottages Entire Compound is one of our favorite rentals and is very popular for larger groups needing four bedrooms with four bathrooms. The tropical oasis and grounds provide your own private sanctuary, and the locally known La Chata beach is just steps down the North Shore Road where Bravos Boyz love to take a morning swim, comb for beach glass or watch the surfers catch a wave.
The Palm Cottage was originally the rectory and having been completely renovated is a sheik beach hideaway. The Bravos Boyz used their signature polished concrete counters with concrete sinks fully integrated in both the kitchen and the bathroom. The Palm Cottage has two bedrooms and two full bathrooms making this an ideal place for four people to call home. The Palm cottage has a private outdoor shower with your own blooming orchid and surrounding tropical jungle. The Bravos Boyz design all of their properties with what they call a folly and the "Folly" of the Palm Cottage is a floor to ceiling screened room with beds and chairs for lounging. The words used most often to describe this room are Hemingway's Hideaway!
The Palm Cottage bedrooms are air conditioned if you require it but it sits high to take advantage of the constant breezes and the sound of the nearby surf will lull you to sleep. There is a living room and dining room all looking out to the tropical pool and fountains.
The Pool Cottage sits directly across the pool from the Palm Cottage and was carved out of the stage of the sanctuary as well as church offices and bathrooms. The Pool Cottage is offered fully air conditioned and with two bedrooms with two bathrooms en suite. The signature polished concrete counters and sinks are again seen here stylishly simple yet elegant.
Both cottages offer acid-stained concrete floors and our guests love strolling in and out of the cottages from the pool as the floors can take it all. The Pool Cottage has an inside living room as well as an outside living room and outside pool side dining on our signature polished concrete table for six to eight. One of the two bathrooms offers an outside shower.
Both cottages offer high quality thread count bed linens as well as white fluffy towels and bright colorful beach towels. The upholstered furniture is very comfortable as well as offering full package cable because watching a movie is relaxing, high speed wireless internet no further explanation needed and land line phones with free long distance to the United States just because! Additionally, we offer you a washer and dryer and beach chairs and coolers so that you can reasonably stay in a Bravos Boyz house only needing to bring flip flops, a sarong and a bathing suit.
One of the delights of the cottages are the many tropical plantings the first of which are 30 foot Puerto Rican Royal Palms that Thom planted from seed around 2003. Additionally, there are Areca palms, Mac Arthur palms, Adorneidia palms, Figi Fan palms, Travelers palms, Coconut palms, philodendrums, orchids, scented Ylang Ylang and spider lilies, hibiscus, blooming bromeliads, bananas, pink, white, and red ginger, heliconias, gardenias, bright crotons, various types of ferns, a water garden with blooming lotus flowers, herbs and many other surprises including night sounds and visiting Iguanas.

Palm Cottages resort was an ideal oasis for my family (ages 7 to 80!)--from start to finish. The owner, Thom, actually greeted us and walked us through everything, when we arrived. He is such a gentleman! His helper, GC, tended to our needs and questions--quickly and easily. Palm Cottages is: clean, comfortable, safe, well-located, spacious, nicely appointed, and most beautifully landscaped--it was like living inside a perfectly manicured miniature tropical rainforest! What a treat it was! All of the air-conditioning units functioned perfectly. The kitchen is well-stocked, and designed nicely for maneuverability. The rooms were all spotless. And the pool is gorgeous; you can float in it at night and gaze at the stars. The hosts could not be nicer or more amenable to guests! It was a great experience for all of us--with a 2 minute walk to a beach! We will return.

The property was secluded yet close to town and nearby areas. Victor was accomdating. They layout of the home was perfect for our families.

Great location, amazing pool! We did not realize the office plus a car rental is part of the residence, so there were people around and it wasn’t totally private. One of the bathrooms wasn’t clean (really gross toilet) and there were no kitchen towels or wash cloths… sparce glasses/mugs.

Nestled amidst lush gardens, this property felt like a private paradise - a serene escape from everyday hustle and bustle.The gardens were well maintained, with vibrant flowers, tall palms, and a symphony of birds adding to the relaxing atmosphere. It was a treat to wake up each morning to the sound of nature and enjoy my coffee on the spacious patio overlooking the greenery.The crown jewel of this getaway was undoubtedly the pool. Surrounded by lush foliage, it felt like an oasis. I spent hours lounging by the water, soaking up the sun, and cooling off with refreshing dips.The accommodations were comfortable and clean. The bedroom air conditioners worked well and the kitchen was well stocked with cooking tools, utensils and dinnerware. Overall, this tropical getaway was spacious, peaceful, and rejuvenating—a perfect destination for anyone looking to recharge or simply enjoy the beauty of nature.
