About this apartment rental

The Loft is perched at treetop level and affords panoramic views of the river and surrounding marshes. It is located on a secluded peninsula just 5 miles from Bath, Maine (The 'City of Ships').

There is a hiking trail along water's edge and also kayaks or canoes for rent to explore the waterways.

Refinished with knotty pine walls and flooring the Loft has a comfortable cabin feeling while offering breathtaking panoramic water views.

There is a queen size bed in the bedroom and pull-out couch in the living room.

The kitchen is complete with a refrigerator, stove, microwave, toaster and coffee pot not to mention all the pots, pans, dishes and utensils you will need.

The Midcoast area of Maine is known for its miles of white sandy beaches and Lobster wharfs where you can enjoy their famous lobster dinners on the dock as you watch the lobstermen bringing in their catch for the day. What makes the midcoast so appealing is the fact that you get to enjoy all this without the crowds. You will love the slower pace of life and the pristine beauty of this untouched area.

Let me begin with the positives. The bed was comfortable.Thw apartment had everything you might need. The location was exemplary. The view from the window was outstanding Our stay. was hampered by several things.First when we arrived and were unpacking we found a hornet walking across the bed,I ultimately kill 4 of the in the apartment before we completely settled in. The bathroom is very small. I am 6' 4" tall and the shower head was at my chest level. A big problem was that we did not find one piece of furniture comfortable to sit on. We were suppose to have wifi.We had problems connecting .I texted the host and heard nothing. If I had just received a response saying noone else has had a problem I would have thought maybe it was me.and accepted the issue. That having been said I have had no problem getting wifi in Mongolia,Peru China etc. With all of this in mind I probably would have planned on going back if there were comfortable furniture.

Beautiful ever-changing view of the Back River. Serene. Bring your fishing gear. Hosts were friendly and easy to reach.

It was wonderful! I called it the "Shipwright's loft". For me it was the quintessential Maine experience. Staying above a shipyard workshop (Comfortably), enjoying the most phenomenal lobster in the world, plenty of things to do while I wasn't learning timber framing. And that view!! Absolutely beautiful!

Up over a walkway over a roof to a storage room which you go thru to enter your space. The loft is good size with a kitchen/living area bedroom and tiny bathroom hard to sit straight forward on toilet because of how close sink unit is. Windows looking out to river are great. We were told an exhaust fan would help run the air thru the loft but it did not work. Internet was extremely finicky. Could not figure out how to get tv to work. Water "full of minerals" ( salt is a mineral) be sure to use bottled for drinking coffee brushing teeth. We used the loft for sleeping, bed was comfy, having breakfast, making lunches for our kayaking trips and it was fine late in evening to sit quietly and read some evenings did wish for a screened in outdoor space as weather was quite warm while we were there. All in all I think we got what we paid for.
