Spacious Farmhouse with Breakfast- Ella’s Place

Great family gathering place for our reunion. Well-stocked kitchen & breakfast items. Big yard. Near TopGolf and Great Lks Crossing, oakland Univ. We'd stay again!

The property met our needs for our whole family to stay. The picture listed of the rooms was not accurate and caused some changes, but it was doable. All the stars were hard on my knees. The rooms were decorated beautifully. Our bed was very comfortable. Another bathroom would have been helpful with 14 people. The breakfast was a joke if it was for 14 people staying for 4 nights: a dozen eggs, 1/2 gal. of orange juice. along with frozen waffles and pancakes that were not in there origial packaging. Also, the ants in the kitchen were an extra bonus. We tried our best to honor the no-shoes house rule. Wish weather could have been better.

Beautiful home, comfy beds, our ladies thoroughly enjoyed Ella's place. Plenty of room for us all, easy to find, peaceful surroundings and clean and homey. We look to book again next year! I really wanted to love this house. But, unfortunately, it fell a bit short on my expectations. When I first arrived, my code to get in didn’t work. I messaged the host and called the number a couple of times. She got back to me about 15 minutes later and told me that my code would work now. (It did)Next, I was a little uneasy about the fact that all but one of the bedrooms were locked. I travel alone, so I like to assure myself that I’m the only one in them home. (I understand the reasoning they had and realize this is just my own paranoia, but it was something I hadn’t experienced before.)Then I noticed ants in the upstairs bathroom and bedroom. I told the host and she sent someone to spray while I was out. I later found many more ants all over the kitchen. (I’ve noticed that other reviews stated the same thing.)I also noticed that the lights all throughout the home were flickering a lot. I mentioned this to the host and was told they didn’t see anything while they were there spraying for ants. Then I attempted to use the beautiful tub in the downstairs bathroom. This was my biggest disappointment. It didn’t hold water in and ran out of hot water before I could even fill it 1/2 way. Lastly, I was asked by the host to move my car so a delivery could be left in the driveway between 7am - 11am. No big deal, but I wasn’t told this until 6am that day. A little more heads up would have been nice. The house was really cute, bed was comfortable, but I wouldn’t stay again.
