Hyatt Regency Vienna

Pleasant stay at Hyatt regency Vienna however there was a half eaten wafer below the TV console which was not cleared for 2 days straight despite informing reception and housekeeping. Location was convenient to the main central station

Just a short walk from the main train station (less then 10 walk to the platform on a totally flat ground), the hotel feels luxurious with fantastic amenities. The bed is so comfortable and the view (we stayed at 1112) excellent. The ambience and design were perfect.

1st night : found only a dry iron and no steam iron available : alarm clock found in the room stopped---battery long dead and no one noticed : arrived late at night and upon checking in, were told that the only place in the hotel still serving food is the rooftop bar cum restaurant AURORA. Rushed up making sure we got there before they’re closed. The waitress in the bar near the entrance saw us at the end of her eyes but never approached us; the waiter beside her made sure to have his eyes firmly fixed on the one task on hand therefore never lifted his head; the second waitress was busy chatting to customers, followed by lengthy hugging to bid farewell. Then she headed straight back behind the counter, choosing to sprint past us. We finally approached the first waitress and asked if they still served food. The answer was ‘no more food cos it’s almost 10:30pm and kitchen is probably closed.’ We then explained we just arrived and simply wanted a quick bite. She disappeared to check and returned to say OK, the kitchen would whip something up for us. We ordered simple sandwiches, salad, fries and drinks. Every dish was mediocre. : slow shower with weak water pressure : short faucet head at wash basin therefore water flowing out couldn’t reach far 2nd day : we were told upon checking in that the items consumed in the fridge would be replenished daily; but found nothing upon returning at night; my personal face towel hanging on the bar handle was gone; bathrobe dropped onto the bathroom floor not replaced ; a harder pillow request not met. : slow shower not relaxing; weak faucet at hand washing basin annoying : requested extra hangers with clips : requested a steam iron and later delivered to the room 3rd day : informed front desk of fridge items not replenished, of gone personal face towel and non-replacement of bathrobe; hangers with clips never appeared albeit assured ‘ certainly, NP to get them all done. ‘@noon : upon returning at 10:45pm, nothing okayed at the front desk was done. : called the reception and they brought stuff up. Personal face towel never retrieved, fresh bathrobe later brought up with some foreign blonde hair attached 4th day : Left room late so ‘ do not disturb ‘ sign removed @3:45pm : returned after 11pm to find the entire room + bathroom not made up, i.e. no housekeeping performed. : immediately called front desk and asked why no housekeeping done; also reminded them coffee creamer requested before 3:30pm never delivered : lady over the phone on night shift answered tersely with zero apologies, saying they provide no daily housekeeping but only every other day, therefore we’d have to put up with the messy room for the night. There is NOTHING they could do cos housekeeping hours are till 5pm. Seriously? Even in the name of going green to save water and that bedsheets aren’t changed daily, for most hotels it is a given that beds are made and bathroom cleaned on a daily basis. Can’t this lady have been trained better? What ludicrous answer, what she said was totally erroneous and nonchalant attitude most unhelpful to solve the problem. I asked to speak to the manager. She sounded surprised but obliged. : There are incompetent managers, and there is this very lousy incompetent night manager at the Hyatt Regency Vienna. : He called a minute later and sounded monotoned, dull & stone cold. I recapped the incident and he said he checked the pictures taken by the housekeeping team that the “Do Not Disturb” sign outside our door was still hung @3:30pm. I reiterated that the sign was removed at 3:45pm. : This night manager insisted that the picture taken by his team at 3:30pm was genuine solid proof, stressing that housekeeping finishes daily at 5pm and reiterated that no one is available to do anything after that. What he remarked insinuated I made things up when I said the sign was removed at 3:45pm.
