About this cottage rental
Rio Miño Cottage is privately housed in the grounds of a beautiful Rustic Finca, in a elevated position, with gorgeous views to Portugal and River Minho. Good sized shared swimming pool 'with a view' in mature green and secure grounds. There are two terraced or shaded areas for sitting out, and a small private BBQ within the Ancient Galician Horreo, with extensive recreational areas throughout the extensive grounds. Peaceful area, with river, forest and hill walks direct from Finca. Sandy river beach, safe for swimming, 10 minutes walk, with many gorgeous sandy sea beaches within 15- 30 minutes drive, on both Spanish and Portuguese side. Good restaurants within walking distance, and in the heart of The Albarino wine producing area of Rosal. Lots to do and see with Celtic and Roman and other historical remains abundant in the locality. Water sports, riding, walking trips and cycling can be organised locally. Ideal location for couples, families or larger groups with a separate large reception room available if required. My personal profession is a spiritual coach and I would love to offer private Yoga/Pilates/Meditation/Breath work sessions during your stay at my new studio on the Finca grounds if that interests you please do let me know.

We’re a Dutch family with two teenage boys (13 and 15) and spent a wonderful week at Pam’s Place at Shakti Rio Minho. The cottage is a charming old house, thick stone walls, authentic character, and a peaceful terrace shaded by grapevines. A true oasis of calm. Pam herself brings warmth and energy to the place with her lovely personality and welcoming smile. Always there to help. The boys loved the pool; it’s big and deep and I personally enjoyed lounging on the sunbeds in the shade. From here, it’s easy to explore both sides of the river, Portuguese and Spanish. We found ourselves leaning more towards the Atlantic coast and preferred the Portuguese side overall.Our personal highlights: • An early morning walk from the cottage down to the river • A visit to Baiona (Spain) • The Saturday market, village and festivities in Vila Nova de Cerveira • Moledo Beach (30 min) and the calm beach in front of Barracuda Bar in Caminha (20 min) • Diner at Restaurant Xeito in a Guarda The house and grounds could use a few updates here and there, but we had a great stay and would definitely recommend it!

Beautiful surroundings and well maintained pool and gardens. There are three really good restaurants and tapas bars in walking distance. Pam was very helpful with suggestions of where to visit and eat out. We swam in the river most days and enjoyed driving over the border to Portugal for the beaches and market. A very relaxing holiday.
