About this cottage rental

This cottage sits right on the south shore of Lake Ontario. Built in 1902 as a get away from the heat and bustle of the city this cottage was featured in Home and Garden magazine in the 1950's. We have completely remodeled and modernized with a functional quaint kitchen and modern bathrooms yet retaining its charm. It's easy walking distance from resturants and some of the best trout and salmon fishing in the world. The sunrises and sunsets are spectacular! Niagara Falls is just an hour’s drive away as is famous Letchworth State Park known as “The Grand Canyon of the East”. Watch the ocean and lake freighters pass by on the horizon as well as the ducks, geese, swans and seagulls and the occasional sea hawk and bald eagle!

The cottage was so charming and the views spectacular! Everything we needed was readily available. Very accomodating. We have 2 small fur babies and were able to walk them around the property as well as along the neighborhood. Neighbors were friendly and welcoming. It was quiet and peaceful and a woderful place to unwind. Good food within walking distance. Close to wonderful sites to see. The local produce was impressive and reasonable..highly recommend!!

Lake Onterio Cottage reviewWe arrived at this idyllic cottage which is literly as close to the water of Lake Ontario as it could be and found a home which excludes warmth & welcome in abundance.I laid in the bed early the next morning looking out over the lake as a misty sunrise was dawning and early autumn breezes came through the open window, I heard the haunting cry of a loon calling out to it’s mate. The message reverberated through me acoustically like it was saying, “it’s mornings’ song…. It is your song too…. You have just forgotten it.”Our entire expiernce was like this in unexpected ways. The cottage is equipped with everything you could ever need. It is clean, full of charm & memontos of lives well lived. Our host Dan is fantastic as is the helpful neighbor Joe. Joe has little stray cats that play between the proprties. They are so fun to watch… you can bet there are no mice or rats around their homes. As I said joy comes to this place in unexpected ways.I’m not sure why Niagara Falls was never on our bucket list… perhaps narrowness of mind on our part…I don’t know, but it should have been…it’s only a 45 minute drive…and a somewhat an emotional experience in person. Certainly one not to be missed. If you are looking for a soul renewal or r the kind of place where you can actually exhale… this is it, complete with sweeping sunrises, sunsets, moonrises and starry skies… you will not be disappointed with this Lake Onterio cottage.
