About this house rental

We love spending time at the camp to relax and reconnect, and we hope you do too! With 100’ of private sandy bottom waterfront on beautiful Thompson Lake, a wraparound deck with screened porch, and cozy camp for up to 9 people, it’s a perfect spot to enjoy a summer/fall/winter vacation in Maine with family & friends. The camp is located on beautiful 13 mile long Thompson Lake, one of the cleanest and most serene lakes in Maine. The sandy bottom frontage provides the perfect spot for boating, kayaking, fishing or just playing in the water. There is a public beach with deep water for swimming just across the way reachable by boat/kayak/car. Summers in Maine are fantastic, you always want to be outdoors! There is well-lit dock, and kayaks, life jackets, and floaties that are available for guest use (at your own risk.) The backyard has a firepit, grill, and a hammock, and you can take in the beautiful views of the lake from the wraparound deck with a screened porch. It is a wonderful place to enjoy a morning coffee and sunrise, laying in the sun, or bbq’ing with friends and family. The yard is flat and great for kids to play on. Keep an eye out for the 22 pairs of loons (they mate for life!), bald eagles, moose, and other wildlife.

A winter getaway is just as lovely - there are several ski mountains in the area, and easy access to snow shoeing, ice fishing, snowmobiling, tubing, sledding, and cross country skiing make this an excellent spot for family fun (or a romantic weekend!) Firewood is available for the indoor fireplace as well as the outdoor firepit. A new hot tub was added to the deck in 2021 and is just the best!

The house was recently renovated with lots of upgrades! Both bathrooms (with bathtubs) sparkle. All 3 bedrooms have new carpet and bedding is provided so the house comfortably sleeps 6-7 adults and up to 9 people total including children. The two bedrooms upstairs each have a queen size bed, and the bedroom downstairs has full bunk beds with a twin trundle. The top bunk supports up to 400 lbs but is more comfortable for kids or teens. The kitchen features new appliances, lots of counter space, and is fully stocked with all the essentials, including microwave, coffee maker, pots/pans/dishes, and lobster pot! Dining room seats 8. The living room has a fireplace, Smart TV, and fuzzy blankets – perfect for snuggling up in the fall and winter, if your visit brings you up for the gorgeous fall foliage or a winter getaway. Downstairs has a finished basement with a playroom including a leather couch, giant beanbag, and big screen TV (with a DVD player, Amazon firestick, and surround sound) as well as a newly felted pool table, dartboard and board games. The playroom has direct access to the backyard and lake via sliding glass doors. There is a pack 'n' play crib/changing table for young ones.

Thompson Lake is a diamond in the rough – it is quieter and more family friendly than the busier Sebago and Long Lakes with all of the same great activities. If you’re looking for a livelier evening you can hop down to Bridgton, Casco, or Naples, they are all a short drive away and have fun restaurants, bars, and shops.

There is plenty of parking in the driveway, please do not park on the lawn. Feel free to bring your boat if you have one. We can answer questions about sizing and where to launch so just ask!

We are dog friendly and offer discounts for repeat guests. A unique keypad code will be provided before guest arrival.

What is provided: Upon your arrival, the house will be clean with fresh sheets and towels, and stocked with the following items to get your started. Depending on the length of your stay the quantity of disposable products will vary, so you might need to supplement. But we never want anyone to arrive and not be able to use the bathroom! :0)

New sponge
Dish soap
Paper towels
Cleaning spray
Hand soap in bathrooms
Toilet paper
Toiletries basket (shampoo/conditioner/lotion/toothpaste, etc.)
Clear trash bags

The Neighborhood: The neighborhood is family friendly, with some homes occupied year-round and others that are used for vacationers. Our street is a private paved road that is quiet and well maintained in the winter making it accessible without 4-wheel drive, though that is always safer during the snowy times of year.

Sebago and Long Lakes are about 20 minutes away. Shawnee Peak is a 20 minutes, and Sunday River is under an hour away, making this a great spot for both summer and winter ski vacations. And in the fall you don't have to go far to enjoy the gorgeous foliage! The camp is 45 minutes from Portland, and ~2 hours from the Boston area.

*Outdoor security cameras are installed on the property.

We had such a wonderful time at this beautiful rental home! The lake was peaceful and picturesque—perfect for morning coffee on the deck. The house was cozy, clean, and well-equipped with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. We especially loved enjoying fresh lobster dinners and exploring the charming local towns for shopping and sightseeing. The hosts were thoughtful and welcoming, making the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. We’re already looking forward to coming back!

We had a great stay. It was a nice location, calm and quiet, yet, not in the middle of nowhere. Less busy than Long Lake. The beds are comfortable and there is everything you need. Pool table was a big bonus, the large screened porch was great for game night and dinners. Morgan was very responsive to all my questions. Recommend!

Wonderful house, lake and owner. We were shocked to see all the extra supplies and provisions that were included. Everything you could possibly need was there. Highly recommend!! Judy G

The lake is beautiful for kayaking. There are some great breweries and restaurants in the area. Having A/C and a washer/dryer were wonderful. This part of the lake is very shallow and weedy, not good for swimming or floating. Access to the lake is visually and physically impeded. For the price of the rental I expected the house and yard to be better maintained. The yard is unkept/overgrown, we had to clean everything we wanted to use - outdoor furniture, corn hole etc. Deck furniture is run down. Grill was filthy and we had to get our own propane. Owners were responsive to the issue we had with a drain and are very nice. For the price, I expected more.
