Located in the beautiful Hudson Valley in the LaGrange/Hopewell Junction area of Dutchess County, this 20-acre country estate, on 20 flat acres of what was a former horse farm and reclaimed barn, is an idyllic getaway just 70 miles north of New York City. This estate is a 5 bedroom home with modern amenities, in what was a reclaimed barn, has a pool, a barn and separate garage. This house is in the beautiful Covered Bridge neighborhood and conveniently located right off the Taconic Parkway, a few miles from Vassar College and just 75 miles north of NYC, making it perfect as either a family home or a weekend getaway. It's a large family house ideal for gathering with a newly renovated kitchen and dining area, with state of the art appliances (Viking range/oven, Sub-Zero fridge) and a new dining table and banquette that can seat up to 15 easily. Two decks look out to an expansive lawn and pool and are perfect for summer barbeques. There are 3 separate bedroom suites (each with a bathroom) and two large kids bedrooms making the house the perfect family home. There is also a home office with high-speed internet perfect for remote work or school for the whole family. The house can easily sleep up to 12 guests, ideally comprised of 6 adults (3 couples, each with an en suite bedroom/bathroom) and young children who enjoy sleeping together in a large room with twin beds and bunk beds. One can enjoy the use of the large swimming pool with diving board and also a house golf cart to explore the property! Covid-safety measures and cleaning practices have been implemented so that every surface has been disinfected.
Located just 9 Miles from the Vassar College campus, the location makes this home perfect for graduation week or Parents' Weekend. Marist College, the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) and the historic Roosevelt Mansion is just a few miles away.
The Hudson River is a 20 minute drive and the boomtown of Beacon NY and modern art museum, DIA Beacon, is also a 20 minute drive down the Taconic State Parkway.
Rhinebeck and Millbrook are within a half an hour's drive.
This family-owned property is very private and relaxing. 20 serene acres - have a softball game in the yard. A 56" flat screen TV is equipped with HBO, SHOWTIME and STARZ movie channels as well as many sports packages. Free WIFI as well.
The heated pool has a small diving board and the upstairs rooms are wide open and perfect for lots of kids. We also provide several gaming systems as well as the use of the family golf cart.
It's serene year-round. Thanksgiving is such a beautiful time in the Hudson Valley and the trees that surround the property will be gorgeous fall colors.
Ideal for the owners would be families who can make extended stays. Possibly taking the house for the summer months or the fall or spring semester.
A very smart, responsive and capable property manager and handyman are managing the property and can answer any questions and handle any repairs or issues that might come up.
The Storm King Art Center is nearby and the new Auberge Wildflower Farm hotel and restaurant are wonderful additions to the Hudson Valley for a beautiful farm-to-table meal. Splashdown Beach is a water park with fun slides and rides and a wave pool, located just 20 minutes away for summer fun.
The Dutchess County Fair is always the last week of August. And there are many NY county fairs that occur throughout the summer along with music festivals. The beautiful Mohonk Inn is nearby.

This is our 2nd time at this oasis in the Hudson Valley.
The house is perfect for a family. Our family consisted of 6 adults and 2 children age 6. There is plenty of room for everyone to spread out. The immaculate pool is the highlight of the house. The golf cart is s close second. There are also games and an arcade game.
The house is very clean and the kitchen is well stocked
The owner is very responsive and always available for any issues.
Highly recommend.

We stayed for a week at the end of July. This was our second summer staying here, we love this property so much. We were a group of 6 adults, 5 kids (ages 10 and under) and a dog, and it was just the right amount of space. The owner is so friendly and very responsive to texts. The property is very private and just a short drive from a grocery store and many restaurants. The house is huge and comfortably furnished. The kids love having the upstairs all to themselves. There are more than enough toys and games to keep them entertained on a rainy day or when they need a break from the sun. We enjoyed family board games almost every night, and the arcade game provided lots of entertainment too. Outdoors, the pool and golf cart were big hits and we also had fun playing wiffle ball in the huge lawn. If you are looking for a local hiking trail, we enjoyed the Dutchess Rail Trail, it’s a wide paved trail with lots of shade, dog friendly, and very scenic. I highly recommend this property, it’s perfect for a family getaway. We would love to stay again in the future.

We are 2 families from the city that wanted to take our young children to the country for the long 4th of July weekend for some fresh air and swimming. This property was perfect. The house large and spacious. The kitchen is gorgeous and well stocked for us to cook for our 4 kids and 4 adults throughout the weekend. Anything we needed, the market was close by. The pool was clean and well used by our group, as the weather was hot! The golf cart was a hit with the kids. Coming back into a well air conditioned house was a godsend. Ling was so communicative throughout the weekend and was so helpful. Can't recommend this property enough! Thank you for renting to us!
