Great location, lovely apartment and super helpful owner

Lovely apartment, communal swimming pool. Lots of equipment to cook and prepare food. Beds very comfortable. Easy access to Fuengerola and surrounding areas.

On arrival we had to pay for cleaning which in essence was fine as we thought cleaners would come in change the bedding etc and give the apartment a clean. We were staying for 3 weeks. When we discovered no cleaners were coming in we had to ask about clean bedding as this was locked away in a cupboard. We were told cleaners would come in for a big clean when we left. We had to wash and change our own sheets having got into the locked cupboard. We also had a noisy neighbour upstairs banging around late at night and moving furniture a lot.

The apartment was lovely, very clean, large living area,. large patio with direct access to the pool.

Late check in, early check out, 200€ deposit, long wait for deposit refunded. VERY strict rules. In almost 20 years of coming to La Cala Hills, including ten in a family-owned apartment and staying in half a dozen other different apartment blocks, I have never encountered such strict rules and regulations regarding community do's and don'ts. After visiting the pool and putting the provided sunbeds around the pool on many occasions, one day we were visited by the spokesperson for the community complex who informed us that they had been complaints that we had actually put sunbeds around the pool!!!! We were there a week and apart from the four of us we only saw three other people in the pool all week. She was very abrupt and soon gained the nickname The Karen. We were also warned that no glass was allowed around the pool but I was quick to point out that we were drinking out of plastic glasses but of course that was not good enough as the bottle we poured the drink from was glass. Ok I said, my bad and we apologized but we also pointed out that if she was such a stickler for the rules then perhaps the lady upstairs could calm it down a bit with the stomping around the apartment in high heels at 3 in the morning to which The Karen said she would speak to her. F.Y.I... She never did, which suggests that god forbid you put a sunbed around the pool but it's okay to practice your flamenco dancing all night in high heels, which she did most evenings or mornings as it were. Lovely apartment but I would never come back because I never slept and I like to relax on holiday but The Karen made it impossible. P.s..... if you do consider this apartment, please remember not to hang your towels over the balcony!!
