Raadballi Retreat

This is a unique old Himachali resort right in the middle of a forest. The property is about 8 km away from the main road, but the smaller roads are car friendly and it is not difficult to reach the place. The property has 4 buildings spread over the guest area. They are the main building with two rooms and a verandah, with a dormitory room and a terrace above it. This main building houses the kitchen, where Mr Tikku Chawla treats you to a great Himachali breakfast, dinner and /or lunch as the case may be. There is a cottage with a room in the ground and the first floor. These can accommodate a very select group of 10-12 people, providing camaraderie and privacy both. There is an old bamboo cottage which is unique but is currently under repairs. Another edifice with a ground and top floor provides a resting place for the car drivers. The accommodation is ideal for on-site bird watching as well as proximity to Nagrata Surian zone of the Pong Dam Reservoir. The rooms are tastefully decorated in the traditional Himachali fashion. Mr Sumit Guleria, the owner is a pleasure to speak to and takes personal care. He arranged for a birding tour for me under the guidance of Mr Manoj, who is an excellent ornithology guide. We really enjoyed our two half days there and would want to get back for more. Overall an excellent stay!

Attached to nature ,peaceful stay, Great environment, Mr Sumeet,owner personally handling and taking care of the visitors , very supportive staff.,good homely food.

Everything is good.

The setting is fantastic. Situated in a shallow valley in the middle of a thick forest. Superb service by Sumit - he almost single-handedly managed things for the three of us, including taking unusual requests. He even drove five kilometres to show us the correct way to our next destination.

The pillow covers could’ve been a bit cleaner.
